Paranormal Task Force Survival [BETA]

Archive: 1 post

"Yet another zombie shooter hooray!" one might say, but for shure this person has not played this level yet.

The most important features are in the description, but I want to offer you some more details why you should definately play it:

This is not a easy game!
It is (nearly) impossible to survive alone, teamwork is a must!
Health, fatigue and ammo bars. Brining any of these to zero could bring you doom.
Helath: There are differently effective medicits dropped and there is also a medikit Weapon.
Fatigue: You can Jump, Sprint, Punch and Climb all this consumes fatigue. If you have none, you can't do any of this.
Ammo: It is used for all weapons. You can youse your friends ammo by standing close to them when shooting.
20 totally different weapons! It's not like there are 12 machineguns that just look and sound different. There are Dual Pistols (aim in two directions!), Flamethrower, Chainsaw, Railgun, Medikit and my favourites, the Bladestorm and Cerebral Bore inspired by good old Turok 2 (N64).
Every weapon got different damage, magazine size, penetrating power, range, reloading speed, etc.
At the beginning you can choose up to 3 weapons, out of all 20! No.20, the knife is always usable for you.
You got a inventory and can find new weapons while struggling with the hordes of paranormal creatures.
You can carry 5 grenades/mines (toggle between by quickly taping L2 two times). They elliminate any enemy but also damage you. They can save or kill you, use them whisely.
5 unique types of enemies! zombie A, stronger Zombie B, boss zombie C No! Ever delt with a ghost-obsessed ariconditioner?
Enemies will grab you and deal constant damage, punch them to escape! No fatigue to punch? Hope you friends can aim.
Since you are a member of a Task force, you do not fight alone. Jets come in and drop you support goods like Ammo, Medikits and new weapons.
Ofcouse you are here to deal with the enemy, but there are civilians that need your help! Will you rescue them? They will reweard you with points and occasionaly with items too.
You went to the ground? Do not worry yet, your friends can still revive you! Only when all members of the team are dead, the game is over. But be carefull, you will notice the difference between a full team and a half dead one.

Now let the pictures speak!

The thermomenter was at 75% and when the weapons and enemies spawn ingame it goes trough the roof. I till try to make it run more fluently but it's already way better than in the ALPHA, for that reason I labeled this a BETA.
Here are some things I am still working on (If this level is actualy played).
1.) Better Level: The current one is too easy. There are way too many spots to hide from the enemies. (Note: The level you play in the beta is already the 3rd I made for this. The previous two were way to thermo consuming.)
2.) Balancing: The enemies still seem too weak for my taste, but I do not want to overpower them. It's still about having fun.
3.) Make it (even more) failsafe: Occasionally your sackbot gets squeezed, and this means game over. Just making a respwan for the bots would introduce unbearable laggs. I have to find other ways to make the whole Level "un-lethal".
4.) Reduce the risk of lagg: I am slowly running out of ideas how to reduce the laggs without taking features away, but I'm still trying.
5.) Tutorial Video: I've been working on this the past 3 weeks and I wanted to get some feedback before I do any more on it. But I see the need for a tutorial because there are lots of features.

[ P.S.: I did not participate in F4F because this is my first showcase and I am not used to the F4F system. Yet I will return the favour of thoughtfull comments ]
