Noticed that my Impact Sensors are not working at all. Can anyone confirm this?? Mine are still working fine, albeit with the same bugs they had in the beta. The "Include Touching" option can be unreliable in some cases, but it's usually possible to work around it. If you have a specific fail case (the simpler the better), publish it in a copyable level so people can take a look to ensure it's actually a bug, and not a misunderstanding of their usage. | 2011-02-17 11:43:00 Author: Aya042 ![]() Posts: 2870 |
or you gave a tag name to your impact sensor! | 2011-02-17 12:27:00 Author: Luos_83 ![]() Posts: 2136 |
No, do this test. While in create place two stones, one above the other. Now place 1 Impact Sensor on either stone and allow the stones to fall on the other. No impact detected. | 2011-02-17 16:26:00 Author: sascha_winter ![]() Posts: 163 |
Have you tried to hook a sound object to it, just as a test? | 2011-02-17 16:46:00 Author: Chump ![]() Posts: 1712 |
No, do this test. While in create place two stones, one above the other. Now place 1 Impact Sensor on either stone and allow the stones to fall on the other. No impact detected. Works for me. As soon as the top stone hits the bottom stone, the top stone's impact sensor comes on, and stays on. | 2011-02-17 16:47:00 Author: Aya042 ![]() Posts: 2870 |
I know in the beta you had to assign names to the tags for the impact sensors to work. Not sure if this bug made it through to the retail version though. I've had no problem with named tags and impact sensors working in the retail version so far. EDIT: Just had a thought - make sure you have the touching option checked too. I had a heck of a time with that. | 2011-02-17 17:23:00 Author: Morgana25 ![]() Posts: 5983 |

Works for me. As soon as the top stone hits the bottom stone, the top stone's impact sensor comes on, and stays on. I dont believe that is correct, that is a touch sensor, not a Impact Sensor. I believe the sensors are bugged post update to a permenant touch state. | 2011-02-17 17:50:00 Author: sascha_winter ![]() Posts: 163 |
I dont believe that is correct, that is a touch sensor, not a Impact Sensor. I believe the sensors are bugged post update to a permenant touch state. If you're suggesting it should just come on when the impact occurs, and then go off again, I think that's how they behaved until beta patch 1.02. Retail version has always behaved this way. | 2011-02-17 18:23:00 Author: Aya042 ![]() Posts: 2870 |
