3D Layer Tools Compatibility in LBP2

Archive: 10 posts

I know that this is probably a tired question that most of you have already answered, and I humbly ask for your forgiveness for my ameteurish knowledge on this subject, but I've been lurking everywhere as much as I possibly could. Including reading threads like this one:

https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=44460-Layer-glitch&highlight=Layer+Glitch

Teebonesy's Layer Glitch FAQ:

https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=18254-Layer-Glitch-FAQ-Get-the-most-out-of-your-custom-backgrounds-foregrounds&highlight=background+glitch

And TheAdipose's YouTube Video at:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYRGeojQMr4

...Now from what I basically gather from these sources is that it's a little bit harder (but still possible) to pull off the 3D Layer Glitch in LBP2 than it is in LBP1.

To explain my situation, While playing LBP2, I went to TheAdipose's Level on LBP and got his tools for the 3D Layer Glitch. I got them in my community objects, made a new level and tried to start using them. Following TheAdipose's YouTube video as I went along. I was trying to place pre-made objects (for scenery purposes) into the background.

So I follow the video step by step and get to the point where I'm told to place down the "1 - 40 Background Layer Tool" and tear off one of the numbered blocks and copy it (while in Front View Mode). So I use my popit cursor and try to pick up a block. All the blocks are still attached to the structure...

So I re-capture the entire "1 - 40 Background Layer Tool" community item--effectively copying the entire thing as a new item in my goods bag. So I place that tool down again.

I can move the blocks around independently of each other now, but if I try to delete / unglue them from each other, the entire object deletes instead of just one section of it deleting.

I try moving one of the blocks next to the pre-made object I want to move into the background. I can capture the object, but not the block with it. The block is still technically "connected" to the original "1 - 40 Background Layer Tool" object.

In other words, I can't separate the white layered blocks from each other in the tool while playing LBP2.

Then I read that MM changed community prizes so they could not be broken apart.

I'm kind of stumped as to what I should do next at this point. I own both LBP2 and LBP1:GOTY Edition. Not really sure where to look, either. Especially after lurking around looking for info. Most of the stuff I've been reading about the 3D Layer tools applies to LBP1 with almost little to no info on LBP2 about it.

Maybe I just haven't found anything yet. Nevertheless, I thought this place would be the best place to ask. Thank you very much. I'd be most grateful. And again, I apologize if this question's already been answered before. Please forgive me.

You can remove objects from community object with destroyer.

Yeah thanx for that too! My main problem is that I can get the item to emit into the background but it is emitted 3 layers too far back and I want it to be right up against the playable three layers without the gap in between, and I am not able to move it in or out at all. Problem 2 - I have an emitter on my created object (to make a stream) and I can't get it to emit in the background no matter what layer it is on it always emits on a playable layer. Problem 3 - I have been told just to build in the background instead of emitting premade objects back there but again I can't move it and it is too far back. Any help on those?

Find a level with the back layer markers (I think rtm223 has one) Front view select the box with the number of layers to move back do the process (MAKE SURE THE BOX IS SAVED WITH IT) then the box will end up in the 3 normal layers and the object went as far back as the box's number that you chose 2011-02-17 07:12:00

I downloaded drunkenfist_lee's tools but I am still lost and Age of LOLZ I really don't know what you're talking about, sorry. Can someone take a few minutes out of their time to come to my moon to teach me how to use this thing? I would really appreciate it Gutz_Berzerker on PSN2011-02-17 09:01:00
