Movie cameras on respawning sackbots

Hi! Got my speed boost sackbot up an running, got my checkpoints up and running and logic for respawn. I've placed a movie camera on the sackbot circuit board that activates when the controlinator is activated. This works fine if you want that particualar point of view for the entire level, but I have channeled in other cameras through a selector as well for when the player will need a differnt POW in order to make jumps and clear certain obstacles. Here's where the problems start: The first respawned sackbot works fine, but when he dies the camera just goes back to the controlinator. When I look at the circuit board afterwards, the tracking camera does get power. Why does the camera move back to the controlinator and not to the tracking camera? Hopefully that made some sense.. im not sure what you have done so far, but maybe you need to wire the power output of the DCS on the sackbots microchip into the input of the camera, otherwise when a new one is respawned there will be no input to start the camera, as wires dont get linked to emitted objects. | 2011-02-17 00:39:00 Author: Skalio- Posts: 920 |
Ive ran into the same problem, i solved mine by placing a timer linked to the movie camera onto the sackbot. This way when a new sackbot spawns, the timer is activated, after the timer runs out the camera is activated. With this method though, once the main sackbot dies the camera goes back to sackboy then to the respawned sackbot. Thanks, but I worked it out after posting. The problem was caused by a camera placed at the spawn gate(to create a dramatic effect while spawning) and this overrode the tracker. The solution was to make the emitter kick the bot out just above the tag so that it would create a fresh input into the selector.
