What do Circuit Nodes do?
Archive: 4 posts
Whenever I'm putting a connection to something, like a grab switch to a Danger Tool, I sometimes hit the Micro-Chip & a thing called a Circuit Node pops up. What does this do? | 2011-02-16 21:47:00 Author: IronSkullKid99 Posts: 515 |
It's mainly used for organizing the circuitry of your microchips, but it can also be used to split an output signal - just place a circuit node coming from any other node on your microchip and drag new wires from the output of the circuit node to whatever you want the primary node to be connected to. Since the wires of a circuit node tend to be much more organized, this can help make a cluttered microchip easier to look at and understand. Just keep in mind that all the outputs of the circuit node have the same value as its input, so if you drag a circuit node from - say - a randomizer and split its output to many different logic nodes or objects, they will all be turned on if the randomizer chooses the output that leads to the input of the circuit node. Hope that clears things up. | 2011-02-16 21:56:00 Author: sny Posts: 144 |
Circuit Nodes are mainly used for re-routing wires. You can have wires follow very specific route to make things more organized when using them. | 2011-02-16 21:58:00 Author: Unknown User |
Uses for circuit nodes: Cleaning up wire routing Having a single random choice from a randomizer go to many things Sit alone in a microchip to form a relay Force ordering of inputs/outputs Drag them off the chip into the level for off-chip wire routing Since they light up and are visible in play mode, use them to give a sci-fi feel of flashing lights to your levels. Use them to speed up making connections, then delete them after and the wire stays connected And that's just off the top of my head. | 2011-02-16 22:22:00 Author: Tygers Posts: 114 |
