Stretch piano notes?

Archive: 6 posts

I've been working on a song for a while now, and noticed that the only instrument that fits is the Piano. The problem is that there are a few very long notes in the song, and the piano notes fades out before the note ended.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Yeah the problem is that most instruments don't hold out their notes long enough. Try selecting the second node and use the right stick (away from you) to increase the volume. If you want the volume to match you will have to increase the first node as well. However, I've noticed that most instruments don't hold their notes for very long. Especially the electric guitar. Not sure what the deal is there, but I noticed that a single note sounds just the same as a long drawn out note on the electric guitar. Anyway, you could also try increasing the reverb a little on the piano. That's not exactly what you're looking for, but it'll draw your note out a little longer.2011-02-16 21:18:00

Thanks, I'll try it. Some notes are really long though.2011-02-17 05:33:00

Didn't work. The notes are far too long for them to become audible doing this.

Maybe you could switch to a different instrument, possibly Strings then make the nots orange by pushing right on the right stick and having something quiet over the top of that until it goes back onto piano.

Or maybe try tweaking the Music Sequencer itself and play around with it, but be sure to save your first copy before you do this.
