Hi guys, My aim was to make a replica of the first level of Bubble Bobble arcade. It's still a work in progress, but I've published it and taking a break to stop myself going insane working on it! It's a little buggy in places but as a proof of concept it works. You can shoot bubbles, pop them for points, pop multiple bubbles, trap enemies in bubbles and pop them. It also features detailed sprites, probably the best bit about it! At first glance it seems rather simple, but even simple things like jumping through platforms, getting the movement right and switching sprites proved to be quite tricky. That is too cool for school! Very vibrant and was great hearing the theme tune. Hearted to replay, I only wish it was longer - but that stuff looks complex. Try my Dark Heart of the Wood if it appeals.

Tried this a short while ago, excellent start on the level. Only point I can think of at this early stage is the bubbles seem to go a little too far when fired, you used to have to pick up a sweet to increase bubble distance. (Its been ages since I played the original so may be mis-remembering)

I tested it yesterday, and it made me smile ! Sprites are really cute, just like in the good old days. Maybe you should add more effects to the music, to make it more catchy ! Oh, and I ended the level with 20 points, sometimes 10... I didn't get how some people could get to 50 points

Thanks! The points are just when bubbles are popped at the moment. If you have enough patience you could easily break a million points
