Using R1/L1 to rotate an object

Archive: 6 posts

Have a feeling I'm being dense here. Say I have a turret rotating about a fixed point. I want to press R1 for it to rotate clockwise, and L1 for it to rotate anti-clockwise. Just can't see a way to do it as most inputs seem to be "left/right".

Help really appreciated!

I haven't tried this myself, but I think you can connect R1 and L1 to a Signal Combiner, and send the combined signal to a basic Rotator located on the turret.

Hope it works

Yep that sounds like it should work.
Another option is to forgo the direction combiner and, instead, use a separate rotator for each button. The only advantage of this is if, for some reason, you wanted the turret to behave differently depending on which way it turned.

Well, that was simple and worked first time. Also introduced my to de/combiners which had watched in tutorial and thought "can't see when that would help"! Which I'm finding with a lot of LBP tools - tackle old problems which took hours to solve in minutes. Them MM guys certainly did good!

Thanks for the responses all!

You are very welcome

Although I wasn't sure about connecting the combiner to the Rotator (which luckily turned out true ^^), I do know that you can connect Combiners to Movers, Counters and Selectors for great added functionality!
