Link a film after a coop level

Archive: 8 posts

Hey I've made a level wich is got a short film at the end. I have to publish the final film in a liked level as there's no termo left in both levels, but I have some doubts here:
-Do I put the score board at the end of the film level (is this posible?) , or in the game play level?
-If I put the score board in the game play level how do I link to the final film?

Thanks in advance for your help

I'm pretty sure rtm made a logic to send signals and even scores through levels, you may ask him.
Though you might need some spare thermo

Oh yeah, I can get some spare termo as I'm using a lot of termo-super-expensive MM objects in the film, knowing I was going to publish separately.
In story mode, after you kill the bosses, you get to the scoreboard, press continue, and you get to the following film. But I don't want people to think the level is over, leave a comment, maybe rate it, and after they press continue the final film comes out...
Not sure what to do.

What I'm thinking about, even related to what I'm going to do with my stuff, is building a hub to enter my levels, where I will explain the concept behind the level, force the player to be alone or with someone to play a certain level and things like this.
Maybe you can build a hub and before entering the level you can explain that the level has a surprise after the ending and encourage people to not go to the pod immediately.

I'd probably put it in the gameplay level.

I believe if you tweak the scoreboard, you can make it a level link in its own right.

Or you could use a Game Ender, have no scoreboard, and a Level Link which activates at the same time as the Game Ender. Then you go to the next level.

Also I recall that you keep all your prize bubbles and score bubbles when you travel through a Level Link anyway, but to make your final level only enterable through the first one you need to make it a sub-level. I hope I helped.

Sorry if this doesn't work, I just thought of it then and I've never tried any of this myself.

Normally the scoreboard is the end of the level and nobody expects that there's more afterwards. Sometimes creators use the scoreboard level link to directly send players to one of their other levels instead of back to the pod (which I find rather annoying), and people might think you did the same and leave before they realize it's still part of the level they just played.
If you publish the film as a co-op sublevel, you can place the players into controlinators (set to auto-enter, non-visible in play mode and pop-it controls disabled) during the movie, and use a game ender tool to send them to the scoreboard at the end. Hope this helps, but I couldn't really test it myself yet, sorry.

I don't suppose you have a link to a tutorial on that? Two seconds of searching didn't turn up anything but this thread.
