This is not a thread about Old people that bake you cookies, knit you sweaters, give you lots of money, and only sees you on holidays. I'm talking about the award show. Some interesting Topics are... Mileys Side-boob was showing at the red carpet...gross Nicki Minaj's hair/outfit Lady Gaga came in an Egg!!! Aretha Franklin Tribute by the Divas (Florence, JHud, Christina idk the rest...there were 5 of them) Lady Gaga's performance Who the hell is Esperanda? WHO THE HELL IS ARCADE FIRE!? +1 for the grammy joke, but -1 for: WHO THE HELL IS ARCADE FIRE!? | 2011-02-16 00:58:00 Author: midnight_heist Posts: 2513 |
OH I didn't watch it but I heard some band/artist named Arcade Fire won an award that Lady Gaga should have totally won. I regret not seeing Lady Gaga's performance Maybe I'll find it on youtube. | 2011-02-16 01:22:00 Author: Unknown User |

... Some interesting Topics are... Justin Bieber and Usher cheesiness -_- ... hm, Bieber and Usher you call cheesy, yet you wear DeadMou5e loud and proud in an avatar. Guess some cheesy things are to be liked. Anywho, I never take 90% of award shows seriously. If it's not Hollywood back-patting, it's just more safe artists getting the big attention and being called the next [enter musical icon here]. Though I am both surprised and happy that Arcade Fire and Esperanda won major awards this year, though beating the Beeb wasn't a surprise, since he shouldn't have even qualified for that division, but I guess they needed to put him in there since it's the only way it would get attention. | 2011-02-16 17:25:00 Author: KoingWolf Posts: 386 |

Certainly not by Bieber standard's anyway!! What do you find cheesy about Deadmau5? The mask? I guess it could be seen as a little, but that's just his gimmick y'know? On topic: Lady Gaga came in an Egg!!! Lul wut? That lady is odd. No. That's not the right word. She likes to portray the image of being 'Odd.' Again, I guess it's her gimmick. *Sigh* Why can't musicians just be musicians instead of having to be "That guy with the mask" or "That girl in the egg?" Your heavy imagery doesn't cover up the fact that your music blows! Although, I do like Deadmau5. | 2011-02-16 18:46:00 Author: Mr_T-Shirt Posts: 1477 |
Maybe you should google them? I mean just look 'em up on you tube or anything. I mean there my personal favorite band, Ever. There just less mainstream than the average grammy winner which I find sort of positive. But no idea about Esperanda. | 2011-02-16 19:01:00 Author: wev99 Posts: 67 |

Yeah, I know I'm going to run against a lot of LBPC'ers with that comment, but I really do not think of him as anything other than mediocre at best. His gimmick is eye catching, no doubt about it, but his music is just bland as bland can get. He's also.. kind of a ****. So those two together and to me he's just nothing more than this big mask making "meh" tracks. So basically, mask is a great gimmick, but I've known about him before he really blew up in popularity and his music has never been all that different or even that good from the rest of the competition. Never got better after that. But hey, music is different to everyone you know? Not like I'm going to change minds with that comment. (I will say that Danger Mouse is a better mouse DJ person in my opinion.. ) | 2011-02-16 20:13:00 Author: KoingWolf Posts: 386 |

(I will say that Danger Mouse is a better mouse DJ person in my opinion.. ) I totally understand where you're coming from. I wasn't a fan of his for a very long time. I guess he's just one of those guy's that grows on you....well, he did on me anyway. Hmm. It's hard to compare two DJ's such as Deadmau5 and Dangermouse. They are two totally different styles. Dangermouse has more of a contemporary style of DJ'ing, beat-mixing and such, whereas Deadmau5 is the more 'Modern,' 'clubby' type of DJ, writing in a MIDI file and launching it on the fly. Hard to compare, but both good at what they do. Sorry. Am I babbling? I know a fair bit about DJ'ing is all. | 2011-02-16 23:14:00 Author: Mr_T-Shirt Posts: 1477 |
"Danger mouse" ? Wouldn't that cause some copyright issues with the awesome cartoon (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PrM0E9pag8E)? Or did he buy the rights/pay royalties? | 2011-02-17 01:10:00 Author: midnight_heist Posts: 2513 |

That name might not be copyrighted, or they might not care. Hate to use this example, but the band "Fall Out Boy" named themselves after a character in The Simpson. I don't think they had to pay and royalties, so I can't see why "Dangermouse" would be any different. | 2011-02-17 01:18:00 Author: Mr_T-Shirt Posts: 1477 |
