How can i make an inventory?

| My advice? Start working on something simpler first. Inventories like that are... advanced. It does a lot of things. If you can get, for example, a sackbot to change costumes dynamically, then you have one piece of the puzzle. Item use is a big one - you need to have your sackbot do the right thing whenever the player calls for an item to be used. Throw a fiery rock? Drink a life potion? Spit contemptuously at an enemy? The options are many. And once you can produce each of the effects you want, then you need to be able to switch between them reliably. Then there's keeping track of what stuff you have, and can have - in short the optyions to be shown in the inventory. Then there's the interface itself, which compared to many of these things is fairly simple, actually... Not a small task you've embarked upon. But then, me, I'm trying to get a good idea for how to do movement in an RTS-style game the right way, so hey, best of luck to both of us, yeah?  | 2011-02-14 22:29:00 Author: Unknown User |
