So now i'm desperate

Archive: 15 posts

Hey everyone!

Wel because i'm a new creator and new to LBPcentral i'd like to introduce myself!

I'm 17 years old, male and I live in Holland. My hobbies are playing great LBP levels, Creating great LBP levels and Sharing great LBP levels. But now i've come to a certain point in my creator life. I've created a level, wich i'm verry proud of! BUT NOBOBY PLAYS IT! I've tried everything!

I spammed to promote my level (wich was stuppid becouse someone disliked my level for that). I tried to promote my level at social networks such as Facebook and Twitter. And now I still don't have a lot of plays. That's why I came to LBPcentral, I hoped to find some people here who would play my level, so I posted it on the forum, but still nobody plays it!

I find this frustrating because the people who played my level all liked it. So I was hoping you could play my level.

You can also add me on PSN if you want.

i have played your level and hearted and loved it, before you posted this thread. i think you can be proud of yourself having made such a good work. by now they are a lot of good levels coming out and it is hard to play them all. but with the system of lbp.me where you see what your hearted people play i think more and more will play this level. and even if there are less plays than you wish: you have to think about, that you gave the people who have played it an experience to remember. i mean, how many shark and other survival levels are outside that have been played thousands of times. many of them are crap and the people having played them will not remember to them.

I think you are a very good creator and i hope you go on with your good work. I think you will be more recognized in the future, maybe you will be spotlighted. and though i am only one man i am looking forward your levels.

Greetings

Soggi

Someone told me of LBPcentral some while ago. Back then a made an account but I didn't use it. Since LBP2 has been released i'm creating a lot and playing a lot community levels.

Two or three weeks ago InsideGamer.nl had a competition, the winner could win a Ps3. So I made a level. Now i've finished the level and nobody played it, at this point I started to promote it at different sites, including this one. But I want to create more levels so I think this site could be very helpfull giving me feedback or helping me at levels. I hope it's clear now

Ah ok that explains it! See I asked because you said you were new here, but you have trophies for being signed up for over a year!
It seemed rather... contradictory x)

I think its very important to have a catchy 'front end' for your level, something that stands out and will grab the majority of the communities attention when they are browsing over the level titles and descriptions.

Its very important to make the front end as proffessional and unique as possible. The most important aspect of this is the game name and circular picture that accompanies it, before the description has appeared.

Its basic psychology. with the sheer ammount of levels being published in LBP the user develops a 'filter' while browsing and the majority of levels flipping past will literally go un-noticed. Some of them may well be fantastic, but because the front end has not captured the users attention, it goes un-noticed, ergo unplayed.

If a level is good, it will pick up more plays and possitive reviews, which is another big factor in wether people will choose to try out that level over the tens of thousands of others. Until that point is reached the level relies purely on it having a professional look to pull people in.

I haven't come across a single mass played, well made level that hasn't got an equally as thought into name, description and logo.

food for thought.

As you can see in my signature I already put my level in the showcase, but not with huge succes I'm also thinking about changing the name of my level to a more catchy one. My logo is hand made by myself. Can anyone give me feedback on what would be a better titel, logo and description?2011-02-15 06:32:00
