Opinions on LittleBigPlanet?

Archive: 10 posts

Hey!
Well, I'm debating whether I should get LittleBigPlanet and was wondering if any of you could take some time to answer a few questions for me

1. What is your favorite and least favorite part of the game?

2. Does LBP seem like a game you could only play once? i.e you get bored of it within 2 weeks kind of thing ^^

3. Rating out of 10 on LBP?

4. Reccomend me buying it or getting Fallout 3 instead? As I have picked the other games I want, I am actually stuck between these two.

That's all, thanks a hell of a lot!

Regards,

/Tobyjahale

Edit: I'm really sorry if this is the wrong section to post in too.

If you want fair, unbiased views about LBP, coming to the biggest forum about it MAY not be the best choice.

Personally, you may want to have went to another site it you want ACTUAL coverage. We're dedicated to LBP- what do you expect, us to pick F3 over the game we all decided to join a forum of? Sure, there were a few people who only stayed because they loved the community or something, but yeah >_>.

Anyway, LBP.

1. Favorite would be playing. Least Favorite... hm, most likely those HORRIBLE levels like Ramp that for some reason have millions of hearts. :/

2. ... We are a LBP forum. No one here will say we only played it once and put it down forever, yet still come back here forever.

3. 10, but that's partially because I'm bad at actaully rating outside of good/bad.

4. As I said before, as a LBP forum, of COURSE we'll reccommed LBP- and so I shall. >_>

... Yep.

I echo most of the above comments. LBP is absolutely a worthy purchase, whether you want to create levels or just play them. If you're a creative thinker, if you like Rube Goldberg devices, and if you're old enough to remember enjoying a game called The Incredible Machine, the creation mode is right up your alley.

The graphics are almost on par with an older Pixar movie, and arguably the best I've seen in a game. It was always apparent the graphics were going to be nice in the promo videos, but I was blown away when I saw it in HD on my big screen.

The levels that come with the game are brilliantly designed and absolutely beautiful, and there are plenty of user levels that are great as well.

I'm fairly certain there's been new DLC every week since its release, but someone here can probably verify if that's accurate or not. MM has also made it apparent they're going to keep adding functionality to the game to keep it fresh.

There is, of course, a long list of gripes I have, namely some controls that should be fine-tuned, but mostly within the editor. These involve camera angles and some questionable design choices, but honestly, there has been no other console game in history that has given you so much flexibility to create things and share them with other people. You really have to nitpick to find faults, because the ridiculous magnitude of awesomeness just overshadows any problems.

This game is just as important, innovative, and groundbreaking as some of the greatest console games ever made, and I really think its going to spearhead an industry push into a new era of user-created content.

I will say that they just picked a bad date to release Fallout 3, because its a fantastic game also. I've put about 15-20 hours into it, but I can't find time to play it when I've got LBP levels to work on!

Hey!
Well, I'm debating whether I should get LittleBigPlanet and was wondering if any of you could take some time to answer a few questions for me Will do

1. What is your favorite and least favorite part of the game? Favorite part is creating your own levels and contraptions. Least favorite part is not being able to easily share our creations with others through the game.

2. Does LBP seem like a game you could only play once? i.e you get bored of it within 2 weeks kind of thing ^^
This is definitely a game which can have a lasting appeal. For playing, new levels are being published daily, some of them very good, and if you start creating your own levels you could pretty much spend years on the game.

3. Rating out of 10 on LBP? Hmmm... well, taking into consideration what LBP has delivered, and what it has failed to deliver, I suppose I would rate it an 8 currently. Sony and MM are supporting the game though, so I assume every tiny fault with the game will be fixed in time

4. Reccomend me buying it or getting Fallout 3 instead? As I have picked the other games I want, I am actually stuck between these two. I can't answer this question since I haven't looked at Fallout 3 myself. I suppose it all depends on what you enjoy most.

In my honest, honest opinion, I consider LittleBigPlanet to be THE greatest game of all time. It's less a game than it is a WAY OF LIFE, MAN!2008-11-19 01:17:00

I'd get LBP, but this is an LBP forum so I'm a bit biased
