Elevation Change on top down racer?

I want to go from the bottom most layer to the middle layer in a top down racer is there anyway to make a slope like that?2011-02-14 07:38:00

You can use an in-out mover. As for a visually appealing slope, I haven't seen anything that would work for that. :/2011-02-14 08:14:00

Perhaps you can find a decoration that will fit? Decos are intangible, so they might be able to fill in there.2011-02-14 10:43:00

Yeah, I could do that, second problem I am running into is my track it too big to capture, so I think I might stick with a single layer on this one, maybe I can get it working by the time I start laguna seca2011-02-14 20:48:00

Capture, as in capture as an object you can reuse? Maybe capture it as parts for later reassembly, then?

I'm building a Hamstertron race, and for that I cooked up a stack of modular pieces of track. I went for big squares (six big grid units to a side), with a normal track being two big grid units wide and in the centre. You might for a racer like that go for a track segment approach, like having segments of track that you can then glue together into a track and stuff decorative stuff in between. Like, have both straight sections of different useful lengths and turns of varying diameter in segments so you can use the same piece for different turn sizes as long as they've got the same diameter.

That approach means a more freeform style of track, and makes it easier to replicate existing race tracks out there in the world, but is maybe a bit more fiddly to put together and align. 'Course, if you make the edges with indents and tabs that fit into each other, then you can make sure they always go together the right way, kind of like a puzzle? IDK, maybe I'm rambling a bit here.
