We already know imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but we've never seen it proved as vividly as by fans of LittleBigPlanet 2, who continue to prove the game's astounding versatility by using the game's robust level creation engine to remake their favorite video games of the past. Need proof? Look no further than YouTube, where videos remakes have been popping up by the dozen since the game's beta opened last fall—and now that the full game has been out for a couple of weeks, the pace continues to quicken. Get ready to Play.Create.Duplicate...

#10 Complex Says: As disco-twitchy as the original, though we feel a little bad enjoying the remake in the same...state of consciousness as we did with the original. It's a kids' game, after all.

#9 Complex Says: Back in September when we first saw this beta footage, it was our first glimpse at the power behind LBP2. This recreation is faithfully—nay, cease-and-desistfully—identical to ThatGameCompany's flOw

#8 Complex Says: We know Valve's given us a date for Portal 2, but until we're holding the box in our hands, we're just gonna stay suspicious and play this homage like it's our last chance with the portal gun. Remake is a lie!

#7 Complex Says: It's a good thing we don't need quarters for this one, or else we wouldn't be doing laundry for a good three months

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PN1UWWTb16c

#6 Complex Says: We know deep down that there's no such thing as actual Peggle skill, but we still cling to an irrational shred of hope that we'll find fame and fortune from the way we play Plinko. And for the record, if you have to reach into Drew Carey's pocket for it, it doesn't count as fortune.

#5 Complex Says: Sure, it's a bit unfinished, but it's Guile's Theme. You could show us a dog turd and play Guile's Theme and we'd be convinced the thing was the iPad 2. It's GUILE'S THEME.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUz4bazNxew

#4 Complex Says: Hardcore parkour! The only thing we're missing is crowds of "courtesans" for us to blend in with and townspeople to antagonize by throwing coins on the ground

Legend of Zelda by Bluetonberry (video unavailable)

#3 Complex Says: The game's first dungeon, replicated in stunning detail. Or at least as close to "stunning" as 8-bit graphics gets

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=krjG6hHqrlQ

#2 Complex Says: It might not have C. VIper or X-Factors, but the prospect of fighting with a Kratos sackboy is enough for us to forgive just about anything

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=io65HUY4ZOY

#1 Complex Says: We saved the best for last. Ninjamicwz's remake of the snow board from the original Contra is astounding, spread gun or no spread gun. Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right B A Start FTW!

Hooray for me and no one else. I kid I kid Not bad for a level I made in a day and a half as soon as the beta was on and had no clue about anything that I wouldn't even look twice at now. If they could only see Castlevania... man o man.

I find it kinda odd that they do this based on beta levels (or at least looks like it, i haven't actually checked the levels/videos but I see "Work in Progress" watermark at the bottom of most of the videos) and they post this 1 month after the full version is released.

Anyway I'm kinda surprised my beta projects weren't up there (if they really were looking at beta content of course, lotta sites really liked my beta projects videos)

My videos were put on a couple sites "Top # of LBP2 levels" articles.

Either way thats another reason why i gotta speed it up on my Sonic project

it probably just took them forever to get an article done, & they just browsed videos and/or plagiarised some othef site. or the editor compiled the article in january & couldn't find a site to put it on until now. complex is probably like getting a shout out from maxim or something.

Codec Snake shouldda been on there. Vectroids & Blast Radius would be now IMO, along with Alucard. Contra was lost in the beta or i'd try and soup it up with proper logic & smarter AI & republish 1 & 5.

Well game like Snake don't have even a brand and its too common game + i mixed MGS in to it which makes things looks strange, so codec snake didn't have a chance here ^^'2011-02-14 14:28:00
