Little Big Iron Man: Intro!

Archive: 5 posts

Recently released this introductory video to my Little Big Iron Man level series, of which I've yet to really get started on, save for the suit. (thread can be found here, please check it out!: https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=49006-Iron-Man-Sackbot!)

Anyway, would appreciate feedback concerning this level and would also appreciate any ideas you may have for the upcoming level.
Thanks!

Awesome movie dude! Can't wait for the level to come out! Also I dunno what your plans are but I like the way you get snapped into the controlinator on the demo level maybe when you can end the video with the unveiling of the costume, and then when the level starts you are stark and you run over and the controlinator is right behind the costume so it looks like you jump into it, just a suggestion though.2011-02-14 04:22:00

Glad you like it, thanks!
It wasn't easy to do.. granted, there are longer, and I guess harder movies out there, too,
but if I say so, I think I made some good props. @_@
Stark Industries logo.... *shivers*

Anyway, actually the controlinators for suits can be set to invisible, then set on a 0% brightness hologram set to follow the suit. Thus when you step near it, you jump in the invisible controlinator, thus turning yourself invisible, and you follow the suit 100% accurately, thus looking like you're inside the suit.

It practically makes the camera function properly, as if you were normal, but with all the suit's capabilities!

As for the intro idea, I actually had a bit of a gimmick in mind - we cut back a bit before the intro vid ends, then.. well, it'll be a surprise.

For other suggestions, though, maybe moments in the escape? I've already planned to make flamethrowers and punching(punching that sends enemies flying, no doubt), probably a simple missile system(very simple compared to the nightmare that is my Iron Man Sackbot Test suit's Missile Targeting System.. yeesh), a VERY high health system and immunity to enemy bullets(only explosives hurt you, but not kill you, I plan). And a rocket-jump finish.

The level's gonna be multiplayer compatible, y'see - the first player's Iron Man, but the others can pretend to be hostages. They'll recieve paintinators, and will probably be able to kill guards in 4-5 hits - Iron Man OHKOs guards, of course! The rocket-jump finish will have a warm-up, so other players can hang on to the suit in order to blast away to safety with Iron Man.
And the people who aren't Iron Man can be hurt by bullets, so Iron Man can act as a shield. Oh yeah.

Right now, for suggestions, I really need good ways for Iron Man to take damage(not heavy damage, just.. damage. As in 8 hits and you die type of damage). Explosives and maybe lava/burning crates can damage, but I kinda want some more innovative ways - if you've played "Sackzilla - Destroy Tokyo!", I'm kind've thinking a sort've "rampage" rather than "survival shooter", but you can die if you're really careless. Y'know?

- Have stark industies logo in a different material (try blue wood).
+ Sand effect! :o
How?

Um, that's all I have to say.
No feedback required.

Thanks for the feedback. XD

The Stark Industries logo was actually made out of a certain metal(can't remember) and with stickers added for the "rust" effect. If you look up a picture of it, you see what I was trying to imitate - however, I altered it and took a picture for adding the logo on top of things, such as the missile, etc..
And since I'm satisfied with its appearance and can alter the material/stickers on it easily, AND it looks pretty good compared to the image I was using to "carve" out the logo, I'll leave it the way it is for now.

The Sand Effect was actually quickly moving emitted Sandpaper material that was set to have a short lifespan and "dissolve" upon reaching the end of said lifespan. The camera(and the emitter.. and the speed of sandpaper emitted) were placed in such a manner that it caused the desired effect.
