LBP is separeted. And I hate it

Archive: 18 posts

I've created "LBP is separeted" movie because I am tired of this. Each time I want to play with others 90% of them are rejecting and refusing to let me join. Like everyone want to play alone. I want to show sadness of such thing. But short movie isn't enough. What should I add?2011-02-14 00:12:00

I think you should add a chapter about emo-hero-hair wearing players publishing closeups for seemingly all 2+millions levels on LBP2011-02-14 01:06:00

How do you know they're not busy, or already with someone else.
Remember, its THEIR time, they biught the game with their money, not yours, they're free to play on their own if they want to, no one's forced to accept invites all the time.

I understand you want to play with your friends and all, but do keep in mind right now most of them are likely to be working on important stuff, since LBP2 releaced a few weeks bakc, may be their 1st levels, which they want to make really good, and even tho its not as bad as in Release week, there's still quite some lag in multiplayer, so maybe they just don't want to deal with that.

So I don't think its a problem, I may actually call YOU more selfish for trying to make them look bad with this, when they're in no way forced to play with you and on their own right to want to play alone on a game they bough.

Also, keep in mind with random invite function, there may be many random people pestering them with join requests thush why they have the Auto-Reject.

Or you may simply be wrong.
I once thought one of my friends had something against me because she was always on auto-reject, turns out she wasn't, and placed it for different stuff, telling me to PM her if I wanted to join, simple as that.
So try talking to your friends first before antagonizing them, will ya?
Or you may be antagonizing them for completly unjustified reasons.

I think he's talking about the difficulties that many of us are experiencing trying to use the "Join Us" feature when playing levels with random people...not friends. It's pretty irritating to try and finish a 3x or 4x area in a level because when you load it and get rejected, you still get dumped into the level and have to go back to the pod and try again... and again, and again. While I understand that online play in LBP can be laggy, If those people want privacy during a session, they really ought to turn on the auto-reject feature...that's what it's there for.

Eh, fair enough.
Still, again, the other players are not there to please others.
Some may not even know about the auto-reject function either and just want to play the story mode for the 1st time on their own or something.

Or do you ALWAYS allow random people who wish to join you online, even if you forgot to turn "Auto-reject" off?

separated*

I thought the "dive in/play online" was pretty broken until I chose the "ask me at the time" option.
Sometimes your just online having fun with your friend, and don't want to take the chance of some annoying player joining (not all are annoying, but you see my point), or maybe you and a buddy are attempting for the 2 player high score.
Or perhaps I'm taking a break from community items, and I am attempting to ace a level.
Maybe the player is tired/sleepy/etc.

I just checked now, I didn't even know the auto-reject options were separated (note the spelling) for friends/randoms.
*turns it on*

Kirill993:
Unfortunatelly MM is to blame for this. Their online functions aer really strange.
Im starting level and choose "I want to play alone.". 5 secs into level game show me "xxxx is asking to join you". Of course I will reject him. Why is the game trying to connect us in the first place?
Ar the message "You were autorejected by..." - WTF? Why is such message even in the game?

And then there is of course stability issue - as soon somebody starts joining me, the game start lagging, and randomly showing loading screens for a while. Making me die sometimes.

Matchmaking is broken in many ways. And Im one of those who is rejecting averybody. I dont want to, but is it giving me better gameplay than mattempt to play online, that bring problems :-/ If they path it, I will change behaviour.

I understand if you want to ace story level. But just turn internet off. And what about competitons? Everyone is rejecting even in 4p levels. Lags? I had them in 6% of cases (90 - rejecting, 4 - normal). "5 secs into level game show me "xxxx is asking to join you" "? I didn't have it even in an hour.2011-02-14 12:14:00

I've been creating so much lately that I always reject people, so I can see it from both sides. I don't want anyone to be upset or think I'm mean by refusing to play with them. However, I think it's much more responsible to send someone a message and ASK if they want to play before trying to invite/join them. Then you'll understand why they perhaps don't want to play with you.2011-02-14 14:31:00

You shouldn't have to turn your internet off to stop people trying to join you. What if you want to play community levels on your own? What if you're online so you can chat with friends, send messages etc? Being online and wanting to play with others are two very different things.

What really annoys me is when someone asks to join and you refuse. They try again. And again. Then they send you a PSN message saying "can i join?" Surely the first time you reject them already answered that. It shouldn't be up to me to stop what I'm doing to send them a message...

So if you are playing alone you should turn internet off? That's rediculous. No offense to you but you are one of the most selfsih people I have ever met. How about if those people are not interested in playing with STRANGERS? Maybe they play with their PSN friends but don't want random people in ruining their fun. It's not all about you, you might be ****** of because you can't play with everyone you meet, without even thinking any possibilities. For example, I play LBP in online levels a lot. I don't put on auto-reject because there might be friends wanting to join me in the middle of game. I'm not thinking: ''Hey, a random guy wants to join me. Maybe I'll **** him off by rejecting''. I might also be waiting for my friends sending me messages, like game invites to BO or other games. I like playing alone and I like even more playing with friends, and maybe, just maybe I'm not interested in playing with annoying random people wanting to join me.

As far as the "They try again. And again" thing goes ^, that can be out of a person's control unfortunately. Often, when attempting to auto-join randomly chosen players multiple times, it will try and get you to join the very same person over and over. It's a flaw in the Join system that needs to be fixed.

I feel that the following changes need to be made by Mm:

* If you select to random Join and the other player declines your request, your next random Join should NOT include the player that declined you (specific to the level you are attempting to join)
* If a player declines your join request, the level should NOT auto-load you into the level alone. That is just inconvenient and time-wasting, because you have to exit back out of the level and request another random Join. Please, just keep us out of the level with an option to send a Join request to a different player.
* If a player has their join request set to off (in settings), don't include them in the Join queue. They shouldn't even factor in.

If Mm can make these very simple changes, it would make the feature much less annoying.

Oh no, I was talking about people on your friends list doing that.

I have barely any time to play LBP so when I do I either want to do it with my close friends or family.

One thing that's interesting in LBP2 is that you can invite anyone to your game, regardless of if they're on your friends list or not. I think that can be a really nice feature, since there's plenty of people I'd love to play with in particular but PSN has a limit on friends.

On the downside, this goes to your PSN inbox and is unblockable. That means even if you auto-reject dive-ins and people on your friends list you can still get spammed. And spammed I get.

Yeah, that feature has got to go...it's ridiculous.
