Sackbot Basic Settings

Most of the Sackbot tutorials I see are more attuned to intermediate or advanced stuff, but I need some help with some basic stuff. I'm not an advanced (or even intermediare) logic user, just fiddling around with basic stuff at first before I move onto more advanced stuff.

Follow waypoint: a single way point? I assume it's a tag? Anyway to set up multiple waypoints?

Partrol: What are the boundaries of a patrol? Can I define an area for patrolling?

Is Hostile: If I have a sackbot on either follow waypoint or patrolm what does the IsHostile setting do?

All I want should be simple, a patrolling sackbot that when the player is within range, have it "attack" (it's on fire, so I assume Follow Me is what I want")...

Waypoint: Yes, they will run to the Tags you place - so long as its in it's awarness radius. To set multiple, place a Tag Sensor inside the SackBot, around 10.0, and have that activate another Brain (AI Chip) which follows another Tag (Different name/colour)

Patrol: The SackBot will walk one way, up to the point where it can no more, then go as far back as it can, then walk the other way, then go as far forward - then the cycle repeats

Hostile: Whether it respects its target, or not. Follow a player without hostile, and it'll keep its distance, but with Hostile on, it'll get as close as possible. If it has a weapon (Paintinator/Creatinator), it WILL try to kill you with it!

For what you want, set its initial Brain to Patrol - then place a Player sensor that'll connect to another Brain, with is Follow & Hostile. Set the Player Sensor into a NOT gate, which connect back to the first Brain.
Now when your in radius, it'll try to burn/kill you. If you can escape, it'll go back to patrolling.

THanx... The patrol thing isn't working exactly as I had expected... I have a dead end tunnel, with a grabbable piece of sponge at the end. (The sackbot is set to not use a grabinator, and there isn't one provided). The sackbot gets to the end of the tunnel, where he cannot go any further, but never comes back the other way either... Are there other limitations to the parrol I'm missing?2011-02-13 18:35:00
