The Steampunk Files

Archive: 38 posts

This is not a level discussion thread, but rather an inspiration thread, for either levels OR device modification projects.
Basically, I would like this to be a place to collect pictures, videos, and website links to projects where people have modified something to be steampunk looking.

I present for your consideration, the steampunk laptop!

NOTE : I did NOT make that. I just thought Richard 'Doc' Nagy (www.datamancer.net) did a really good job and wanted to show everybody. Also, I didn't make that video.

So, what cool steampunk stuff have you seen?

As for cool steampunk stuff, Machinarium - an indie game I've heard of, is a bit like that: http://www.desura.com/games/machinarium

Funny I'm working on a steampunk themed level right now. I have some drawings that I've made, I may put them up when I get the chance 2011-02-16 15:55:00

If you're creating something steampunk, then this thread was made for your benefit. I hope it helps inspire you.
Also, people, if you have a steampunk sackboy or level, don't hesitate to post a pic or two here.

That is some Sacky Art.
The best Concept Art I have ever seen on the central.
Although it's the only one I saw XD

It's actually in-game, when you play it it looks like that and some parts are animated, of what I've seen from videos...

I played and beat it. It's a point-and-click adventure game. It is awesome. There are parts that just blew my steampunk mind. The best part is when ... um, nevermind, just go get and play it. It's only about $20 I think, and that includes the windows, mac AND Linux versions, PLUS the entire soundtrack. Totally worth it. It even includes an in-game walkthrough for when you get stuck.2011-02-17 00:10:00

Technically, it isn't really steampunk, but rather a mix of steampunk and cyberpunk. Still, I like the looks of it. Thanks.2011-02-23 15:12:00

Multi-billionaire!?! HA! There is more of a chance I will be captured and raised by space monkeys than that!

Like they say, the pessimist says the glass is half empty, the optimist says it's half full, and the alcoholic says, "Who drank half my beer and what are you two doing staring at it?" 2011-02-26 18:45:00

I'd certainly love to have that arm thing; as expected though the price is quite high.
Speaking of steampunk I think my pod is close to the theme I believe:

There's this steampunk game I learned of a little while ago, but I think development stopped and the game was canceled about 3 years back, shame, it sounded like it could be amazing:

Game Trailer:

Music:

There is a gameplay trailer but it's too violent and gory to post here...

here we have 2 Free 2 Play (F2P) MMORPG games that I thought I'd share in the spirit of this thread:

Neo Steam (http://neosteam.atlusonline.com/) <--- made by Atlus (creators of awesome series Shin Megami Tensei and their MMORPG Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine)

Allods (http://allods.gpotato.com/) <--- steampunk World of Warcraft clone

maybe some of you already play these..if so let us know what you think about it here so you can get more players

like I said these are FREE TO PLAY so no money is spent to play this game, only most likely for the good gear...which shouldn't hinder your gaming experience if you play with friends and such.

anyways enjoy

Well, I tried ogame for a while and saw that I am prone to getting addicted to those kind of games, so I won't be playing them, but I will go look at the sites.2011-04-07 16:05:00

well it's not a bad thing if you get addicted since they are FREE to play...tbh the only negatives for me is that im not playing LBP2 much (or even at all) but tbh that's the PS3 having connection issues so im sure if that got fixed up id be playing more online2011-04-08 05:10:00

an yet that free game will always be there for whenever you DONT play games anymore...its a filler for waiting on other games...and the more attached you get to them the more you'll enjoy it while waiting for other games to arrive2011-04-09 05:26:00
