http://lbp.me/v/xhkk-4 This is my brand new fantastic level for the Toyota Prius competition! I put a ton of hours into it and I think it turned out incredible. Please help me out and play and heart this level, you have no idea how much it would mean to me. Thanks! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F56SegSVChc&feature=feedf Thanks Cog! http://i2.lbp.me/img/ft/3d23172b275122796024face0642a49ca2ace43d.jpg http://i7.lbp.me/img/ft/8371e5f04c1d46bde83a0668bf2f7ffd58332640.jpg http://ia.lbp.me/img/ft/23a7cd38adb224c347737df34d3082b240a7bf37.jpg http://id.lbp.me/img/ft/dcd5653f96eff9b2503a9a36eca5c2fd147bf590.jpg http://id.lbp.me/img/ft/4edd1763d264b1b603109ac1fc4cc66bc327aa8a.jpg | 2011-02-13 04:28:00 Author: Sack-Jake Posts: 1153 |
Wow, it looks very good! Queued! My entry is still in create mode, I'd be happy to show you it if you want! I'll leave my proper feedback here. The plot of the level looks good, as do the screenshots. | 2011-02-13 11:08:00 Author: mutant_red_peas Posts: 516 |
It is a very neat competition. It was a lot of fun doing something more focused. | 2011-02-13 15:41:00 Author: Sack-Jake Posts: 1153 |
Updated with a full video! Watch it in HD! | 2011-02-13 22:43:00 Author: Sack-Jake Posts: 1153 |
WOW! This level totally deserves more recognition! I really loved the different styles you put into the three parts. The only thing that came close to being frustrating is the part where you go under the gashog's chin. I got crushed there a couple of times, and had to go way back to his arms. Another thing you could've done differently was not to make the prius kill your sackboy after destroying the gashog. You could've at least made sackboy eject the controlinator before destroying the prius. Smiled and hearted | 2011-02-14 21:34:00 Author: Entity Posts: 274 |
Well, I hope you enjoy your 3d TV and PS move. Your level looks incredible. You'll definitely win since you've gotten it out so soon, thus more time to get plays and hearts for rating. I'm entering the competition, but mine wont be done until around late feb if I'm lucky. . Since the winners are based on amount of hearts given to the level I'm pretty sure it wont be out in time to stand a chance, even though it looks good to me and my firends who have seen it in create (it's a top down racer like in the original). Enough about me, I'll give yours a play and a heart and leave some brief feedback when I actually get some time. | 2011-02-14 23:42:00 Author: Ricky-III Posts: 732 |

Even if it is, I don't get a whole lot anyways so it doesn't really make a difference. Thanks for trying the level out though, man. | 2011-02-14 23:47:00 Author: Sack-Jake Posts: 1153 |
I updated the final part of the level with some better fixing music, lights, cameras, and other random small adjustments. | 2011-02-15 21:23:00 Author: Sack-Jake Posts: 1153 |
The dark part,, in the forest was much too dark. Almost killed the gameplay. Very good detail in this level. Brighten that section! | 2011-02-16 02:03:00 Author: FinalFault Posts: 23 |
Nicely done, quite extensive. Everyone should play this. What I like: The solar panels, the lit-flower carrying part of the level, nice aesthetics, pipeworks, Gashog was BRILLIANT! Issues: The water takes off the grappling hook and it's a little tricky getting out, where the two flower-shaped cars move up and down the grappling hook insisted on grabbing the first one. Dude, I'm definitely not entering the Prius contest. You've already won as far as I'm concerned. | 2011-02-16 02:14:00 Author: Hoplyte Posts: 100 |
Thanks! Do you think I should make it more apparent to pick up the glowing flower though? I want people to enjoy as much as possible and not get frustrated. Also, I will fix the water issue soon. | 2011-02-16 03:06:00 Author: Sack-Jake Posts: 1153 |
Thanks for fixing the water issue. It might not have been bad if it had been 1-player and the camera zoomed in, but it took me more than a couple tries to exit the water. I thought it was obvious to grab the flower, mostly because the area was dark and pulling the chord drops additional flowers. No issues there, my biggest issue was the car-shaped flower clusters moving up and down. The grappling hook consistently preferred the one in the front layer unless I went way to the right. | 2011-02-16 03:40:00 Author: Hoplyte Posts: 100 |
Hey I played your level and I really enjoyed it! Positive: Design was really good Boss (if I can call it boss) was pretty fun Gameplay was very good. Negative: I didn't see any negative things Keep on making good levels! | 2011-02-16 17:37:00 Author: Unknown User |
Thanks. I'm just going to make this an F4F level since the level is starting to pick up a little momentum! | 2011-02-16 22:16:00 Author: Sack-Jake Posts: 1153 |
hey bud just want to say that the ones that made Littlebigprius should be jealous because not to sound mean but this level kicked their butt (; , i felt like i was playing in a combination of the factory of a better tomorrow, and avalonia, definetly a good combination! The level was really clean and made like a level should be, looked offical. The gameplay was pretty good! I thnk the riding the bounce pads over that cliff would have been harder if it wasn't for I have something similar in my level haha. good enemies, and the moving material(can't remember the name, has the blocks that move) is my least favorite of the ones that move, but you made me like it in this level! Really gave it that modern future look, I liked the ending and the big heart(that I thought for sure I'd get to burst lol) overall great level keep up the good one, you get a like from me! | 2011-02-16 22:18:00 Author: jjdragon Posts: 257 |
Thanks you. I'm really trying to spread the word around at a lot of different websites. I really need to get up to the top ten. | 2011-02-17 00:12:00 Author: Sack-Jake Posts: 1153 |
Alright, so I'm doing a bunch of F4Fs when I get home from school today around 4 since I'm a little behind. I need to go for at least 30 hearts to be eligible for the top ten, so please help me out! | 2011-02-17 14:51:00 Author: Sack-Jake Posts: 1153 |
AMAZING LEVEL! Really should be MM Picked Very proffesional and detailed, story level-quality. I have nothing to add really, great great job. (Hearted, best of luck reaching the top) My level: SIMON! (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=49736-Simon!) | 2011-02-17 15:53:00 Author: saarraz1 Posts: 86 |
Ok, I'm back here with my feedback. I played a while ago so I can't remember all of the level, and I'm a pedantic person, so... Pros - - Liked the boss - Decent gameplay - The bit in the factory was good - I liked it when the Prius came up in the block at the start. Cons - - Visuals. Weren't enough of, sorry. - Although the gameplay was good there could have been more stuff in there, and I think you could've put more gameplay in, for example, more until you REACH the factory, more IN the factory, then the boss. Other than that, good job. :star::star::star::star: but since we're not living in the primeval LBP1 ages (or most of us aren't) it'll just be a 'Yay'! and a good comment. I'm starting mine again, I don't like the theme I've come up with. | 2011-02-17 21:25:00 Author: mutant_red_peas Posts: 516 |
Alright, so I finally got around to fixing the main issues as well as updating the visuals and sfx. Also made the patch nicer and generally more appealing. | 2011-02-18 01:24:00 Author: Sack-Jake Posts: 1153 |
Thanks for your review - here's your return! Wow. Oh you want more? Lol seriously, these levels are fantastically made. Beautiful design and three really distinct themes. I love the clean lines and your factory level, and the Toyota logo on the sackbots really made me giggle. Only two finicky points: The grabinator in the first level is a little tricky, due to there being so much sponge around. The main point I'm thinking of is the section with with moving sponge platforms. It can be very tricky to move up to the second, but manageable I suppose. Second, I agree with a previous poster regarding the death in the Prius. I doubt Toyota would appreciate the use of Sackboys as crash test dummies, unless we went painting little yellow stickers all over ourselves . . . But this is truly a small grievance. All in all, these levels are really very good, and very much deserve a heart from me! | 2011-02-19 00:17:00 Author: rialrees Posts: 1015 |
Not sure about the rules of this comp, but here goes. - The dialog is rather laughable, but that's there for the judges I guess. - Not sure why there is a penguin in the forest..? + Car reveal is nice. - Not much of a race. Would be better if it involved the player more. - The drop down + grapple is a little unfair I feel, as the player cannot even see the hazard. - Unavoidable player (and prius?!) death. Surely there has to be a more enviromentally friendly way to defeat the boss? Overall some nice building design, but a bit too much walking, as the spaces are rather large and feel empty at times. More gameplay would earn my level heart. | 2011-02-19 01:38:00 Author: midnight_heist Posts: 2513 |
I fixed some of the issues people have been having such as: -Penguin in the forest (lol) -A little lighter dialogue here and there -More bounce platforms are emmitted at once in the dark area -Better cameras inside the GasHog -Lighting changes -I can't really change the ending where the Prius crashes since the one we got isn't really suited for editing, specifically the Controlinators, but I turn it into an opportunity to discuss some safety features lol. Hope this improves the performance a bit. | 2011-02-19 03:09:00 Author: Sack-Jake Posts: 1153 |
That was quite the awesome level! The musical choices were great, and I thought visuals and gameplay were top knotch. One small problem I encountered while fooling around a little is right before the elevator that takes you to the sackbots cheering, there are the two power-up disablers. Somehow I managed to jump over them and keep the creatinator. Not too much of a problem, since the level ends there pretty much, but just thought I'd let you know. I hope you win, really great job! | 2011-02-19 03:32:00 Author: Jdsfrog Posts: 97 |
Man, this level looks like a winner. I don't know if anyone could beat this level in competition, but let's see what happens in the top 10. VISUALS: I liked it on how you have three different environments thanks to level links. The visuals looked really polished, and the character designs are unique. SOUND: Good use of the interactive and cinematic musics. GAMEPLAY: This level has very good usage of LBP2 tools, plus the real water. I do agree about the crash death during the riding part, but I understand that because you cannot use the corner edit on the Prius object and that prevented you from connecting the eject thing (well, not sure if that's possible). OVERALL: I think this level deserves to win if there aren't any Prius levels better than this. Great job. A yeah vote, a heart, and a positive review. Thanks everyone, it's in the top ten right now but I'm trying to get it up even further to be safe. @JustinArt: Great level, I left some feedback in-game! | 2011-02-19 19:21:00 Author: Sack-Jake Posts: 1153 |
First off, I don understand the toyota competition. You work for them? Not a problem im hust curious. As for the level it was FANTASTIC. I have nothing to say that could improve it. You have some serious talent, and I look forward to making levels of this quality one day. Hearted and liked. | 2011-02-19 21:07:00 Author: Unknown User |
It's an entry in a contest sponsored by Toyota. You have to use some of the stuff they give you in a level. Thanks for the feedback! | 2011-02-19 21:24:00 Author: Sack-Jake Posts: 1153 |
Just played you level, and it is amazing! Each level's theme looks really nice, and while the gameplay isn't very difficult, it flows well and is fun to play. The only thing I could possibly criticise is that you can carry some enhancements with you, as someone else above pointed out. But they aren't much help to you after the enhancement remover, so it's not really a problem Hearted! <3 Good luck with winning the competition! | 2011-02-19 22:30:00 Author: Otune Posts: 131 |
Oooh! Competiton! May the best level win... :kz: Ill be posting my level in the following weeks... Be prepared to give mine a play when its out too! Queue'd! {EDIT}: Heres your Feedback: -Fantastic Pacing, Never felt rushed or too slow! -Great obstacles! The points it lost in visuals, it made up for in fantastic platforming and puzzles. -Storyline was well presented, I loved the toyota sackbots, and I would have loved to see them implemented in a puzzle somehow. -GIANT BOSS! It actually felt Huge, and My friend and I enjoyed climbing it. -Absolutely epic ending! great use of the prius object there! Ill post My level when I publish it soon! -Grayspence | 2011-02-20 00:19:00 Author: grayspence Posts: 1990 |
I just improved the boss, adding a few more gameplay and visual improvements, especially with the beating heart. I think you'll like it. | 2011-02-20 02:46:00 Author: Sack-Jake Posts: 1153 |
Here's my F4F: Overall the level was well designed. Visually it looked nice and clean although a little plain and lackluster throughout most of it. The level design was good, didn't encounter many problems. The last section with the gashog was the best part. It was more visually interesting than the first 2 sections and the design of the monster was very cool. It was a fun platforming level and I "yeahed" it. | 2011-02-20 18:11:00 Author: antman Posts: 84 |
I'm bit slow... I posted my review in my post rather than this one. Sorry. Here's what I think: Awesome level... in fact the best Prius level I have seen yet, I liked it more than the Official one. Good use of level links and game play elements, in fact you have inspired me to use some of your techniques in the remake of Mysterious mountain I am doing right now. The one thing I wished for was that the giant robot was a bit tougher, but I enjoy a little more difficulty than the standard person. | 2011-02-20 20:40:00 Author: Unknown User |
I can really tell that you've put a lot of work into this one, and that time has not been wasted! It's one of the most beautiful and balanced levels I've played that came from the community. Liked, Hearted and may well be played again and again. (..and, I drive a Toyota myself even though mine is a piece of sh..) Luv! Disco | 2011-02-21 00:40:00 Author: Discosmurf Posts: 210 |
Thanks everyone. I'm looking to really improve the first part of the level without changing a whole lot of the setting/scenery. I wanted to add a little more gameplay here and there, does anyone have any ideas or suggestions. | 2011-02-21 03:44:00 Author: Sack-Jake Posts: 1153 |
Hey man. Just tried it out. Def one of the nicest user level's I've seen. Very nice consistent style, and your puzzles/platforming integrate into it really well. I haven't tried any of the other Prius levels yet, but I can't imagine you're gonna get too much competition of this caliber. I kinda feel like I should say something constructive, so here goes: When I got to the section with the EcoBlaster, my initial reaction was "All right! Blasting baddies! Yay!" But then you only blast one baddie, and it's back to platforming. There's a little more blasting after that, but, from a game-flow perspective, I'd have liked to have the blasting last a bit longer. Another minor nitpick, mostly with the first level, was that you spend alot of time just walking. It's not so much a bad thing, since your level gives the player so much fun scenery to look at, but would be nice to have a few more puzzles/platforms or even just a few score bubbles to keep the player hopping. Also, as a few other people mentioned, it would be nice if you didn't have to die when you take out the gas hog. Again, it's minor, but it keeps your level from being Ace-able. Maybe you could still have the sakcboy jump into the car, but have tinted windows, so people can't see if he's in there, then while the movie cam is focusing on the crash, you can sneak the player to the next section, off-camera. Bear in mind, these are all really minor. As it stands, this level is already more elaborate and fun even than some of the official levels from MM. I made sure to heart both you and the level (and gave a yay). Good luck with the contest! You definitely deserve the TV! | 2011-02-21 08:58:00 Author: hazzmax Posts: 12 |
Hey! It's hard for me to add anything here. As the people already mentioned everything and as the level is nearly perfect for me. I loved all the different sceneries. Putting the level links in was a good idea. I also didn't like that you sometimes had to walk pretty much (like others suggested). And also I didn't like that you die when you defeat the Robot (forgot his name). Would change that, too! Well, it's a bit sad that I can't suggest anything else. As I said... it's nearly perfect! Sorry if this didn't turn out to be a good feedback or something constructive. :s Gave it a 'Yay' and a heart! | 2011-02-21 17:00:00 Author: RedShadow_88 Posts: 100 |
Hey, played this today. Generally I really liked it. Good platforming sections made it fun. Solid visuals throughout. Could have been a little more challenging, but it's pretty good how it is. I must tell ya that I LOVED the heart. It was my favorite part of the whole level. Maybe add some score bubbles in the parts with no platforming. Good work!! | 2011-02-21 21:52:00 Author: smasher Posts: 641 |
Alright so I figured out a workaround in my own messy logic that lets the player ace the level. I'm emmitting a Sackbot copy into the Prius and teleporting the player to the underground bit during the cutscene. If you encounter any issues, please let me know! | 2011-02-22 02:57:00 Author: Sack-Jake Posts: 1153 |
Thanks to Cog for the new video! It is a slightly older version though, I've made a ton of visual improvements with lighting and detail in the GasHog level. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F56SegSVChc&feature=feedf Still doing F4F if anyone's interested! | 2011-02-23 02:11:00 Author: Sack-Jake Posts: 1153 |
Beautifully crafted polished set of levels. Great clean/futuristic with the intro area/toyota sign. The initial car reveal and choice of song was excellent. For the peacock that says "environment-friendly" should that be "environmentally"? The race section was so short/easy it was rather pointless...very pretty though with the water-troughs. All the sack animals were cute but I'd like to see them doing a little dance or something instead of standing around. The sales pitch came on a little strong in the 2nd level...but maybe this was in the rules? I did think the wind flow/solar panel displays with the cars were beatifully done. The eco-blaster was a lot of fun to shoot..,and using the bounce pads to kill enemies was a cool idea. Also really liked the toyota bots. The 3rd level wss just plain fun...good use of bounce pads, the heart area and the giant arms were very cool. This was defininitly my favorite of the bunch. Can't believe I didn't get to drive before you destroyed the car! The end sequence and safety comment were a great way to end the level. I haven't played any other entries but it seems like you have a really good chance of winning with these! * Thanks for playing Wooly Bully | 2011-02-23 05:06:00 Author: fullofwin Posts: 1214 |
Three very good and enjoyable levels. The gameplay is smooth and fun, difficulty setting just right for a no-hassels playthrough. The visuals are very good, you've really made the MM-style of the Asylum, Factory and Cosmos levels your own. Looks stunning. I liked the part where you have to jump on the jump pads to destroy the gashogs. First time I've seen that used in LBP2, I think. Can't think of much criticism actually. This is a really polished level. The only thing I didn't really care for where the Toyota-sales pitches, but that's just me. Luckily you can skip 'm quite easily, if you don't want to read. I haven't played much of the others Prius-level, by judging solely by the quality of this level I would think you have a great shot at winning. | 2011-02-23 08:02:00 Author: pickled-punk Posts: 598 |
Wow just got in and played your level, don't know if i can offer much constructive criticism cos there really isn't much to fault, the only thing i noticed is on the conveyor belt of bounce pads i ended up getting trapped at the end and had to start again. top work all round really!! | 2011-02-23 18:32:00 Author: thespacemonkey187 Posts: 318 |
I'm deep in the top ten list at #4! Thanks to everyone here for giving feedback and jumpstarting my level! Turns out, LittleBigPartner (creator if the original LittleBigPrius) just hearted my level and it's been getting a TON of traffic! Wish me luck. | 2011-02-24 00:52:00 Author: Sack-Jake Posts: 1153 |
I just played your level and found it was really fun. I think you put just the right amount of advertisements in there to keep it from getting annoying. Think of us when you get your 3D TV! I absolutely LOVED the use of the grabinators/dark room/and bouncing moving platforms. You've given me some very interesting ideas. | 2011-02-24 02:55:00 Author: Sickivionkey Posts: 70 |
Wow, It was like playing a commercial lol. Nice work on all 3 levels. Given the feedback offered by the ones before me, I really have nothing that I think woud help you improve this level set. Good variety through-out. Definitely nothing from a technical stand point and visually It's great as well. Maybe the only part that caught my eye was some of the shapes for the tree thin layers in the background were more blocky than organic. I don't think altering it would make much of a difference though.. top notch. GL with the competition. | 2011-02-24 10:26:00 Author: Fated For Failure Posts: 81 |
Holy healthy cow. This has to be greatest LBP level that's also commercial. Great way to advertise car vehicle that's better for nature. Design is solid and fantastic. Looks almost absolutely like levels from actual story mode. Gameplay is basic great platforming, with good choice of power-ups. Bit disappinting that there wasn't moment where you could drive Prius to save the world. Overall, It's one awesome product advertising, and you deserve winning the Toyota Prius contest. Yay and level hearted! | 2011-02-24 16:35:00 Author: Coconuts Posts: 384 |
Looks like a winner. | 2011-02-25 01:07:00 Author: CYMBOL Posts: 1230 |
I'm really looking to improve the opening level since I'm finding that people aren't finishing it. Is it that bad? What can I do to make it interesting all the way through? | 2011-02-25 10:55:00 Author: Sack-Jake Posts: 1153 |
I loved it! Ah.. what can I say that hasn't been said already. I felt so humbled to see a level with so much detail and pzazz. When that first Prius level came along, I thought it was silly (car advertisements in a children's game?) and wasn't looking forward to what came of it, but this has proven me wrong. It's fun without being too hammy and perhaps the only way to approach it was to be toungue-in-cheek. I lol'd at all the happy animal-sacks, and the first part is very corny, but there's always a place for flowery Eve-type levels. It's where the second and third parts really pick up and those oily pig-bots are just sooo awesome. It's so short tho! oh well, I guess I can't complain cuz the third part is the huge awesome pig-bot with all the electric bits and exhaust. Love how you used the freaky clouds for gunk. The design and aesthetics fit so well together, even when the gameplay is a little too easy. I've a lot to learn from this, and I hope you continue to make more (hopefully without the looming branding). | 2011-02-25 23:17:00 Author: Cheezy WEAPON Posts: 283 |
Thanks! There are definitely more levels to come from me without branding lol. Also, I'll be doing a huge update tomorrow, putting optional scoreboards in each level for those who want to revisit parts 2 or 3 more easily. Plus people may have been having some issues with the level links. Should be the last update until the end of the contest, the thermo's about to explode on each level haha. | 2011-02-26 03:38:00 Author: Sack-Jake Posts: 1153 |
i also approve of this level ^_^ | 2011-02-26 03:39:00 Author: Angelgozen Posts: 286 |
I just made a bunch of improvements this morning with scoreboards and the movie camera at the end. It looks a lot more smooth now with the crash. | 2011-02-26 16:23:00 Author: Sack-Jake Posts: 1153 |
Sorry for my delayed response on this linked thread, but I thought the series of levels was truly brilliant. "Each part had a distinctive feel and I loved them all! The bit in part 3 with the heart was sheer genius! Very creative, well tied into the Prius theme while still making a fresh, fun level! Well deserving of the yay+heart I'm giving it =) " I want to re-emphasise the aesthetic elements were fantastic for each section and the play was very enjoyable. The idea for the "heart" hazard had me fascinated. An idea really on par with some of the most creative bits in the Media Molecule story levels, and equally well presented visually. Fantastic series of levels Glad you did F4F so I had the chance to play it! | 2011-02-28 16:49:00 Author: Unknown User |
Thanks everyone. There's about one week until they judge the top ten finalists! Still doing F4F too, if anyone's interested. | 2011-03-02 01:05:00 Author: Sack-Jake Posts: 1153 |
Hey, nice level series. I enjoyed everything about it. Only sticky part was what the glowing flower was for. The first time it is only for light, but then you need it to push the button. It wasn't too difficult to go back and get it, but some with less platforming ability should know they'll need it on the other side. Very cool concepts and lots of fun to play! Smiled and hearted! Good luck. I always appreciate feedback on my levels if you get a chance! | 2011-03-02 19:07:00 Author: Aselrahc Posts: 185 |
Hm. I got that complaint before so I put in a mini cutscene that pans to the bouncepads and the button. It didn't seem like that would help? I'll give your level a go tonight or tomorrow, thanks! | 2011-03-02 22:09:00 Author: Sack-Jake Posts: 1153 |
played it now and i must say the last level was amazing! well in the first level there was a part where i did not know that i can take a flower with me to hit the button i tryed to jump on the button hard times x3 till i thought i got this gloves... where the ... is something to throw? but fine x3 it was alittle bit too dark at the beginning in the first level somtimes but other than that great level. sorry i can not say more cause i don't know what you need to build in these levels to be able to win or something. so i can not say much about the choice of words and items. i just hate this prius stuff on lbp but other than that good level! keep it up! (sorry for the long waiting time!) btw i got a new level! you can see it in my signature | 2011-03-04 19:06:00 Author: ForcesWerwolf Posts: 475 |
I'm making major adjustments on the levels since judging is tomorrow! Exciting! A whole menu screen is going in at the beginning to act as a hub for the levels rather than having them all published. | 2011-03-08 02:42:00 Author: Sack-Jake Posts: 1153 |

Hey... Where's my half of the tv? lol Glad you won SJ. (I know you told me a long time ago, but you can never be congratulated too many times. Also, I just saw this thread in the what's new category. Thought I'd have a visit. ) Some animated movies are epic on that TV. I wouldn't get off the couch in Fry's just because the graphics looked pretty cool. | 2011-04-04 04:59:00 Author: Devious_Oatmeal Posts: 1799 |
