This is my first full length level in LBP2. In this level, you are a sackboy who has come to explore Shamgar's Hideout. There is some good platforming along with a detailed environment and some interaction with Shamgar himself. I would love to hear your comments! If there are any problems with this level, please do not hesitate to tell me because I need to know those type of things.

**One player is preferred because some parts of this level can be a bit laggy. However, having multiple people should work fine.**

UPDATE

For those who do not know, there is a bug in LBP2 having to do with Sackbots. Sackbots can act randomly from time to time, meaning they don't do exactly what they have been programmed to do sometimes. I updated the level with a system that tells you if any bug like that happens within the level. Hope this clears some confusion to those who experienced the sackbot failure.

REVIEW TIME!

Wonderfully Atmospheric, one of the prettiest levels I've seen so far. The amount of time and effort you put into getting this just right is readily apparent and I applaud the little touches (i.e. sticker placement, audio queues changing while submerged). I can easily see this level going on to be a MM Pick!

PROS: Amazing level atmosphere featuring fluid thematic elements and wonderful set piece lighting.

CONS: Some of the more difficult platforming elements may leave the end of your level inaccessible to casual players. Found a gameplay bug. (if you hop into the controlinator that manipulates the spinning wheel/light puzzle prior to having hit the lever above it that activates the lights; you will be unable to leave the controlinator and be forced to hold to reset).

Gameplay: 5/5 Nice balance of puzzles, platforming and story elements, can be a little of the tricky side towards the end.
Presentation: 5/5 Phenomenal! Lighting and sets are gorgeous and well decorated, there is a consistent theme throughout and the amount of time dedicated to making sure the player has a visually stimulating experience is self evident.
Audio: 5/5 Well above average, with nice transitions that really draw you into the experience.
Video Wonderful video presentation makes this a joy to play through

OVERALL: 4/5 Fix the bug and you'll have a sure fire classic and contender for MM Pick!

I played this level yesterday, and I really liked the atmosphere you had. The lighting was great, and the gameplay was fun too, although I found some parts towards the end to be hard to judge, in particular the spinning wheel. It took a lot of tries to get my Sackboy to come off at the right angle. Besides that one thing though the rest of it was brilliant. 2011-02-13 10:07:00

Haha. That spinning wheel is tough, I know. However, I am hesitant to make it go faster because I don't want the sackboy to hit the ceiling. You can actually get pretty high with the speed it is at now

Nice level you made there bud.
It's really beautiful and I think you create a good atmosphere. It's actually relaxing somehow. Your attention to detail is good and it looks like you know how to make that "simple and fun" type of level. It's never too hard and it's always clear what you have to do. In overall it's well presented and your little Shambar there isn't too annoying.

The only downside I have about it might be that there's a tad too much lever pulling and it can create monotomy for certain people. There's also 2 mechanics/moments in the level I thought could have been done more solid. First is when Shambar jump on those rocks collumns and when the first one falls. Nothing told me that this rock would fall and I sort of felt it was a cheap death. I think this could have been improved if the rock was shaking with a sound for a second or two before falling/crumbling. Just the right time for someone to step on it and jump back (out of fear lol). Last thing I see a possible improvement is the wheel near the end. It's really really easy to miss. An easy fix for this one could have been to let a little space around the wheel so someone can stay on the wheel and calculate their jump.

Anyhow, great level in overall, I had fun playing this and needless to say -- it was BEAUTIFUL.

UPDATE

I've fixed the bug with the controllinator, you can now get out anytime by pressing O.

Another Update.

I've updated the system that lets you know when sackbots have messed up a bit. Hopefully this will put an end to the confusion that a couple of people have experienced. I've also changed the looks of the level image:

It looks a little dark here, but it is lighter in the game. I'd love to hear what you guys think of the level! (Oh and I'm not doing anymore F4F. You can ask me to play your level, and I might check it out still.)

Very good level. It's one of your best ones yet.

VISUALS:
The lighting is really good and the material choices are excellent (even if most of them are in LBP1). It is also well polished with corner edit and decorations.

SOUND:
Another great custom music. Also, I liked the idea of the musical change when going underwater (I even did that in my recent level).

GAMEPLAY:
Great platforming with unique obstacles and very good use of the Grabinator, bouncing pads, a very short Controlinator puzzle, and grappling hook. I don't encounter any problems.

OVERALL:
An Ingenious level with solid usage of LBP2 tools and water. A yeah vote, a heart, and a positive review.

I think I have finally fixed the randomness with the bot in my level. I updated the bot with some more "direct" logic than the way it was previously. I have not heard of anyone having problems with it yet and it has had about 100 plays since the update, so I think it should be good now! Hi! I just played your level and I thought it was really good. The atmosphere is perfect, along with excellent platforming. Obviously, a lot of time was spent on this level. I liked that your level had a good difficulty, as well. It wasn't ridiculously hard, but it also wasn't a cake-walk in the park. The only con I see, like RangerZero said, is that first platform had no warning of collapsing, I thought it was safe. It was a good laugh for my brother, anyways. I play this level with my friends and let me tell you it is jaw drooping. I forgot how it feels to play a platform game because I have been playing games all the time. The gameplay of the level is incredible, along with the music of the level it just gives it that beautiful touch. The lighting of the level is incredible along with all of the stickers and decorations of the level. I hope to see a part 2 of this level. Keep up the magnificent work. Wow, i missed the last few comments. Thanks guys! I'm very happy with how my level has done so far, hope it will continue to do well. (So many new levels out there, its hard not to get overlooked sometimes.)

Fixed a minor bug towards the end of the level where the explosives are. Hopefully its gone now.
