Yup, I'm on my 3rd PS3 - having had YLoD twice; But nowhere near as bad as the Xbox360 - I'm on my 6th machine with that - having had 5 RRoD. The process for the swap out was so much easier with Sony than with Micro$haft.

I know how you feel if not worse. I am on my second PS3 plus I had no backs up and I coulndt find my PSN login so I had to start over from scratch! I was half way throught making my first level too. Since my warrenty expried I had to get a new machine entirely...but before I get depressed all I have to do is remeber I am not an Xbox 360 gamer because those poor guys have had troubles...

I got the YLoD right after I got my PS3... If you have an old 80Gig, give it a gental slap right on the top, it fixed mine. Fixed my broken PS1 too actually... And my PS2... Sony consoles just need a bit of discipline when they don't want to work.

i used to get yelllow light of death but i would run to the back turn off by the switch Then keep pressing the power button...R.I.P....oh i forgot to mention i got the YLOD many times before that anyway it finally broke down, poor 60g ...it was the disc drive that broke it (Go on ebay youll find disc drives on there) so i gave it too my sister when my dad fixed it and i got a slim never had a problem....ii do miss ps1 games
