Cupful of Air (Demo/Concept)
Archive: 13 posts
My first LBP2 level. Test out Larry Da Vinci's newest invention, the Cupful of Air. I spent quite a while on this level getting to grips with the Controlinator. I was trying to play about and just simply make this level fun, so don't expect a very complex storied level. F4F Conditions: The first five people to give a short paragraph of feedback, I will give feedback to. Although, I'll probably play levels at request anyway Enjoy! http://lbp.me/v/xq4b6f | 2011-02-12 12:00:00 Author: CheezeBo Posts: 832 |
Queued it up and will play later tonight. F4F is in my sig, thanks | 2011-02-12 12:24:00 Author: agsrule Posts: 89 |

This was rather fun! Flying a teacup around while shooting things. One bit of input - in the part where you have to exit the teacup underwater to get in the crag - the magic mouth that tells to to not forget.... also requires the triangle button to display the text - which blocks pressing triangle to exit the teacup. In LBP2 you can put a magic mouth on a sequencer, tell it to display as a caption, and trigger the sequencer when the player gets within range. This will cause a nice clean "Don't forget to exit your teacup" message at the bottom of the screen. | 2011-02-13 01:06:00 Author: CCubbage Posts: 4430 |

I will probably change the demo now! This will be helpful with the full level | 2011-02-13 07:02:00 Author: CheezeBo Posts: 832 |
Queued and will review within 30 minutes. Please F4F my Signature 2 Part Level in exchange, thanks in advance. Review Time! Since this wasn't a full level but a tech demo as stated I will skip the usual formula I use for level reviews. I would increase the total deceleration ratio to 100% for tighter control of the craft. Other then that it was spot on and would definitely serve as the framework for a side scrolling space shooter or some similar level theme. Controls: 4/5 Adjust the braking and maybe increase the rate of fire on the weapon and you'll be cooking Technical Aptitude: 2/5 A relatively simple level to construct. Overall: 3/5 A Good Starting Point! | 2011-02-13 07:16:00 Author: Unknown User |

I enjoyed flying around in a tea-cup and I want more stuffz like this... But I have several complaints with the teacup. Firstly I wanted to be able to shoot left as well. Only being able to shoot right was annoying. Secondly the anti-grav object tweaker was also annoying. If you don't have the anti-grav tweaker it floats without falling. I won't complain about the visuals and background since it was a tech-demo.... But I'd rate the teacup :star::star::star:. No matter how cool it is flying in a teacup which shoots things, until you fix those things above, it's a solid 3 star from me. The level showcase isn't popular? Bah! :hrmf: | 2011-02-13 11:01:00 Author: mutant_red_peas Posts: 516 |

Bah! :hrmf: Right, I'll add L1 as a left emitter and now I've set it so that the Teacup doesn't fall as I've had someone note me on that already I know the background and visuals were quite poor. The full level is set in Da Vinci's Hideout, and I think it will be a better level all round Anyway, thanks for the feedback | 2011-02-13 11:54:00 Author: CheezeBo Posts: 832 |
Hey man, just played your level there! For a first try I think it was decent, a pretty random idea but I actually think it could work in a full level. As others have said, making the teacup fire in different directions would be great, and I also think making it fire tea or water would be a nice visual touch. The teacup itself seemed to be continually wanting to fall, which I found a bit frustrating, but I'm sure some tweaking with the anti-gravity will fix that. I think if you can work on the theme for a full level this could be pretty fun, but don't rush into it because the teacup controls do need quite a bit of work. Check out level in my sig if you get the chance | 2011-02-13 15:38:00 Author: agsrule Posts: 89 |
0Just so you know, to fix the anti-grav tweaker thing, just set the Anti-Grav, Dampening, whatever it was to 100% on your anti-grav tweaker. That's everything on the anti-grav tweaker, 100%. | 2011-02-13 16:47:00 Author: mutant_red_peas Posts: 516 |
