Can't kill my enemy

Archive: 13 posts

Hey.

How come I can't kill my enemy. Jumping/Landing on the brain (unprotected) does nothing. The brain is functioning as far as navigation, etc. goes.

Is there a special trick to it or a common misstake I might do? When trying the enemy-tutorial everything works like a charm.

Thanks in advance.

I tried creating something simple.

A cardboardbox with spikes on the sides. Two legs underneath (working). A thin round-shaped cardboard head attached to the back of the box. On the head there are two eyes. On top of the box is the brain.

Were you in create mode when you tried to kill it? If so, switch to play mode and kill it.

If not, try reattaching the brain.

Well, do you want that creature you worked so hard on to just disappear?

Actually, sometimes you do. During the beta I had set up switches to activate when the monster is destroyed, and when I wanted to test it I tried killing my monster... only to find out that stomping on it didn't work. So I had to go through my entire level in order to test that the switches were working correctly. Somewhat of an annoyance

Exactly, there are several reasons for wanting your enemy to dissapear. I do most of my testing in the Create Mode and then afterwards I simply rewind.

Thanks for the help though.

i find it best to just move the starting checkpoint to your boss/obstacle/end/oranges and try it there. helps to not do the whole level again. unless of course you need to do it to help with the boss/obstacle/end/oranges
saves a lot of time and money(if your renting it...which you shouldn't be...just go buy it.)

It's set to vulnerable. And that's only for environmental hasards as far as I know. Am I wrong?
