Top down jumping: HELP!

| Ok, so I made a top-down jumping (car, I guess.. but it's not a car in what I'm making) using this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_2VmSeYfqE (5:02 for jump tutorial) and it works fine. HOWEVER... when I jump on to a platform top down, I stay in that layer permanently. So if I jump on to a platform one layer up, I still stay in that layer that's one up of my original layer.
