This may, specifically the 8th to the 14th will be the first annual sackcon. What is sackcon you ask? Well, a creator, or team of creators, can apply for a sackcon booth, and either use it to advertise their creation group/levels, show off something cool, or compete in one of seven categories: Best costume: These booths will have either a sackbot or a sticker of a costume on them if there are any dlc restrictions. The costume must abide by littlebigplanet terms and conditions. Best sacksuit: These booths will show off sacklogic, such as a double jump sackbot, a swimming sackbot, or anything else you can think up. Best musical score: These booths will showcase some choice music pieces. Best musical score wins. Best level: There will be sub categories for best level: Minigames Rpgs Platformers Topdown Versus Best story Best movie: The best movie will need the best sounds effects, best camera work, and best storyline. Best art: The best art must have the best colors and definition Best logic: For all of you logicians out there, give it your all All winners will get gloating rights, and a special costume piece for winning. All winners will be decided by a panel of judges Apply or the judges panel or for a sackcon booth below. ---Judge template--- Reason for applying: Previous experience: Category to judge: We will be reviewing your levels after you apply to be a judge, and having a heart for heart level automatically disqualifies you. ---booth template--- Are you entering a category? If so, which? What do you want your booth name to be? What size do you want your booth to be? (small, medium, large) please only use the size you need, we are limited on space. ---sidenotes--- There will be 10 large booths, 15 medium booths, and 20 small booths. There will also be 3 special booths for big creation teams unveiling their newest levels, movies, concepts, or anything else they feel like pulling the white sheet off of. To sign up for a large booth, reply with ur team name, and the booth size "special". We will review it and get back to you. All booths will be awarded a week before the convention, allowing everyone plenty of time to set up their booth. I will update this thread regularly, and check back often. Good luck Update #1 I have decided to do away with booth sizes, and make all booths medium. To all of you complaining that you want prizes, this isnt a contest, its a convention. You get a booth for others to play your levels and try out your things. The contests within the convention have a prize, though it isnt xp, or some special item (though you will recieve a special costume in the psn mail), but the contest winners will be the only levels/creators kept on the level after the convention ends, until the next year. Also, if you wish, you can use your one level link to link to a "hub" for your booth, everything in this hub level will be counted towards a contest of your specification as long as the hub level has the name "s-con booth" and has a level link back to sackcon within it.

I'm a little confused, so all the booths will be in a few levels? Hmm, sounds like a good idea i guess, Merc wants a medium booth, for me and a friend to chill and show off some stuffs, that cool?

All of the booths will be in one to three levels, linked by level links, and you will be considered for a booth. We will let you know a week prior to the convention if you qualify.

Yeah, you don't really give a date, you just say 8th to 14th, which isn't a date if there's no month. And how are you supposed to judge if people qualify?

So, why should people use their time to enter your contest, you gpotta remember that's one of the most important part of contests, the prizes, without prizes, people have less motivation to do things, sure its not impossible,but it helps a lot. Otherwise you're just basically taking people's objects and costumes for yourselves and your level.

I dont understand why i would take their objects..... The prize is the ability to say "out of everybody, i won". It isnt like i can give away "real" crowns.

I'll consider signing up for a booth, though I do wonder if we're allowed to enter multiple contests at the same time. Personally, I'm considering entering the best costume, best sacksuit, and maybe the best level (in terms of platforming and/or story) contests at the same time.

I'll take a medium booth, please! I'm shooting for best "top-down", or possibly best rpg. The name of the booth is (tentatively) LittleBigDiablo. Look for a level showcase soon. I think the quality and implementation of the character design will surprise a lot of people. Now if I can just get it finished in time (being a solo creator on a massive scale project is tough!)

Ok I'm in a team and I was wondering if they get a booth for a level (don't now if they will) that I can sign up for a logic booth by myself as well. That being said I'd like to sign up for a medium logic booth. I made a top-down shooter logic but when trying to make it a level it lags cause of complexity. I might make it work in the future but for now this seems like a great way to show it off.

I have decided to do away with booth sizes, and give everyone a roughly "medium" booth, and you can enter multiple contests if you want, but use your space wisely.

I agree with above, sadly it has a very unprofessional feel to the whole thing, but what more concerns me is that there is very little interest to make it a profitable use of time, i mean whats the point of , as you say, being able to say "I won out of xxxxxxxx" when no one really cares/knows about it in the first place?

I thought that it was a good idea as well. I mean, for some of us, myself included, having their stuff featured is enough of a prize. If someone was not like that, then why should he/she bother joining? And to ignition, thanks for the info. If this is still open, then I'd like to name my booth "Team Silver Shadow".

Tons of people are commenting about how there are no prizes, and somebody commented on the test level saying "great idea, now find someone with SKILLS to do it"... That kind of discouraged me. So, if enough people sign up for booths, it's on... But if they dont, it isnt.
