Emitter Parent Velocity

I have an object that can move to the left or right while shooting a projectile upwards. I would like the projectile to move somewhat in the same direction as the object shooting it. When I set the emitter to enable parent velocity, the projectile moves faster than desired along the x direction. Basically, I want the projectile to go about 30% of parent velocity (or less). How could I achieve this in a feasible manner if it is even possible?2011-02-12 02:32:00

Can't really, unless it's Plasma or something else that acts weightless. Other objects will go up and frump down. Aka, Gravity...WinkWink. (Set it to zero gravity)

Eh? I have a mover on it so it goes straight up. My problem is that its left/right direction is too heavily influenced by the object emitting it. Don't know if I'm making sense or not.

you'll most probably need to set another mover to offset the unn-desired x axis movement. Use an advanced mover so you can really fine tune how much analogue input you give the mover in the desired direction. use a battery on the input of the mover and tweak the output of the battery's -/+ output, to within single percentages if you need to. This should increase the movers influence in very fine increments.

Play about with it untill you get what your looking for. You know the score

There are probably other ways of doing it but this is the way i'de do it. good luck!

put an anti-gravity tweaker on it
set the dampening to 70%
