I have this level queued now, and will play it and review it within 24 hours.

Unfortunately, I'm unable to access a computer that often, so I am only able to post reviews of your level on the Little Big Planet 2 game. Having said this, I will post a good review with honest opinions and suggestions.

Hope you don't mind, apologies for any inconvenience.

In return, could you please play and review my level in my signature.
When you review it, I don't mind if you post a review on this website or the game, but if you don't mind, I'd prefer the review to be in game, but either works.

Thanks, apologies once again for any inconvenience!

Much appreciated.

I played this last night before you reviewed mine and I liked it a lot. I played it again today and I didn't notice any new weapons - it appears to me it only has 1 kind of firing weapon. I did find a couple of asteroids laying on the bottom as I played, but not a big deal. The game-play is fun and the controls are easy and the firepower make it enjoyable to anyone who likes to blow stuff up like me! I could tell the enemies got more challenging over time. I would suggest another enemy shape than asteroids - it seems strange having rocks following you, but overall I think its really well done and hope to see it get more plays.2011-02-12 02:23:00

thanks for the review, it does have have other than enemies other than rocks, it has rollers which come at you once you get further on the game, im still trying to randomize the spawn of the rocks better as they do tend to lay on the floor now and again.
There should be the fourth weapon on the ship now, i will have to go back and double check that and randomize a bit more the firepower and distance.
thanks again i will get back to it.

I'm with steakmo I didn't find more than 1 fire mode, also I dunno what the circular holograms do. Does look much quite a bit nicer though, I like what you've come up with so far. I'mma heart you so I can stay in touch.2011-02-12 09:02:00

This was a pretty good start if it you haven't yet finished it. I think the visuals are pretty basic and could use some more details. I think the you need to highlight the boundaries of the level somehow, maybe with neon material or something. I think the spawning of the meteors could be more towards the center. The controls were pretty tight though so good job. Keep tweaking it.

If you get the chance, try Jersey S'mores for F4F. Thanks.

Fun shooter. The mounting difficulty works really well.

One small suggestion: I didn't like that you see the edges of the playing field, from which the asteroids pop up. Maybe you could create some kind of border on the first thin layer? Like the edges of a spaceship porthole, through which we are watching the dogfight, or something?

Good job. Had fun.

Just played it.
It's a very good shooter, but the camera seems pulled in a little too close. Maybe just making the whole arena bigger would work, maybe not. Still had a lot of fun!

did you try switching camera views?

I didn't even know you could do that. Huh.
Well disreguard that then lol.
Maybe it just shouldn't default to the up close view.

Hey, I played this the other day and was preparing feedback..... but looking at the video, it looks FAR more refined than what I played. My original input was going to be some of the aesthetics such as the surrounding borders being starfield.

A couple things in your video that still look valid:

1. It seems like the asteroids favor the left side. I don't know if this is intentional, but instead of being balanced it feels like they're always pushing you towards the right.
2. I was trying to avoid the floating circles, but from your video it looks like I was supposed to be touching them.
3. I think the "shooting fire" weapon is a bit odd for a space theme since..... there's no such thing as fire in space. Lack of oxygen and all. It looks pretty cool, but it was just a thought. It looked more like a military flamethrower than a space weapon.

But, I'm going to give the final a few goes tonight.

As for your question on a "floaty" space ship, I made mine float by setting the decelleration (or whatever the setting is called in the mover) way down so after getting some momentum it takes longer to slow down to a stop.

thanks for your input, and you are not the first to mention the fire weapon, and was thinking of changing it, so as a few people have said it now i think i will.
cant wait for your final thoughts, alot have been added since you last played it including the randomness of the spawning, it still seems like they favour the left side but they get more sparatic the further you get, i hope that makes sense lol.
thanks again.

I don't remember if I either played this level in beta format or full format, but either way, this game is a blast.

VISUALS:
The visuals looked very good. It's well crafted with material choices and corner edit.

SOUND:
Good custom musics and music choices.

GAMEPLAY:
The shooter with different power ups is awesome. Very good usage of the score giver and controlinator controls too. I think you should consider using a full camera angle as a default instead of close-up view.

OVERALL:
This game is a blast. A yeah vote.

F4F "Cybernetic Adventures Alpha".

there is a lot of potential for this level. There are a couple really good levels with the same gameplay so it's going to be difficult to stand out. I would suggest putting Instructions at the start first off. Also it would help to add more detail to the ship and the scenery. I also noticed that if you stay close to the bottom of the level the asteroids will all gather up and it's really easy to stay alive. Maybe the asteroids could disappear when they hit the side.2011-04-05 21:20:00
