I have this level queued now, and will play it and review it within 24 hours.

Unfortunately, I'm unable to access a computer that often, so I am only able to post reviews of your level on the Little Big Planet 2 game. Having said this, I will post a good review with honest opinions and suggestions.

Hope you don't mind, apologies for any inconvenience.

In return, could you please play and review my level in my signature.
When you review it, I don't mind if you post a review on this website or the game, but if you don't mind, I'd prefer the review to be in game, but either works.

Thanks, apologies once again for any inconvenience!

Much appreciated.

World 1-1 was pretty good, it showed alot of humor and had nice touches with making the player sackbeard. I also liked the OJ joke and how it seemed like you had this long history as a pirate. The second part was fun too, but there's a long jump in the sewers where you fall on some collapsible platforms and once those broke I could never get across the stage. So maybe you could have them reform with an emitter, so if you die in that area, they can break again? Anyway, very nice levels2011-02-13 03:51:00

Noir: Those platforms are a one shot as they lead to a secret area, if you progress to the right after the opening zipline, the trash will break apart and allow you access to the much cooler aspects of the level, thank you for your feedback though.

Anyone else feeling some F4F?

I can see you like to tell stories but I think the transitions should be made in smaller and faster intervals. I bugged out on the first guard in 1-1 and he broke and fell in the hole so I could not go down ( Hit the gas somehow) . I would have just bailed on you if it was not F4F. Now I had to watch the whole thing again which is tedious. Those type of intros are not needed anymore. Just to time consuming and so yesterday (Lbp1 Wish I could do em' =) which makes them boring now days. Takes away from the platforming.

Your lighting is spot on and your attention to detail is fantastic. Not a nut or a bolt misplaced. Sound effects were well used. I liked the Christmas lights in the cave with the zombie in the rocks. Well timed. I had a problem in a few spots not realizing I needed to head back. Bounce pad machine was one spot. Now I could not finish the level because I got stuck just where I can see the controlinator beyond the wall.

Overall I think you need to double up the platforming action to counter your liking of story telling. I am not one for the stories as much as some other as you can tell from my levels. Just need a better transition of story to gameplay. **** that Little Big Planet ADD......

Great stuff. I love the story, the characters are really cute and original. A totally epic beginning.

Couple things

Since you're having quite a long beginning, maybe build in a way to skip to the gameplay.
Throwing the skull past the guard. You're in plain sight of him, so it doesn't make a lot of sense. Maybe do it in a way where you have to use some stealth.

Looks great!

I'm a big fan of levels with great atmosphere and art style, and this level definitely has both of those. There is some lovely humour and art flourishes that I really appreciate. The use of lighting and music are also very good and really help to bring to life the world you're creating. A lot of attention has been paid to the supporting cast of characters too. I like the use of "constructed" characters, similar to how they were done in the story levels of the original LBP, rather than the use of sackbots, as these help to reinforce the overall style and feel of the level - and they're really well-done!

In terms of constructive suggestions, I would perhaps say that the bright, hologram-based titles are a little out of place with the style and mood of rest of the level (and of the series, after playing episode 2) - perhaps something more in keeping with the spooky pirate theme might be more appropriate and better help to kick off the level.

I think if the thermometer allows, you might want to eventually combine all these levels together into one uber-level, as I think you'll (unfairly) get criticism for the level being too short, when in-fact, just the introduction to a series. If you could eventually do a "game of the year" version of the series in one level with everything in it, it would be incredible.

I expect that a huge amount of effort goes into these levels, and I definitely think they're worth it. Here's hoping to many more!

This was a very good start to the series! I absolutely loved the way you made the intro movie and cutscenes, they were fantastic! I didn't really see all that much wrong with these two levels. I feel that the first one was a tad on the short side, but its ok since its a series. The gameplay was nice and the scenery was good. (I think I saw dark matter in one spot. Try to hide that.)

The one thing I didn't like too much was the creatinator. Its a good concept, but you might want them disappear after a couple of seconds or something. I found myself shooting at the ceiling to make the previous fire things die out so I could pass on. Other than that, great job! I look forward to the next part!

I enjoyed the experience. It was actually cool, because my wife was there and the cinematics kept her interested and off my case to shut-off the system.

The only thing I would really change much would be the lighting in some parts prior to obtaining the torch thrower. Though it wasn't impossibly dark, just enough to make finding the path in some areas a challenge in and of itself.

The trial was very cool. The humor was solid.

I liked the utilization of the torch thrower for both illumination and a weapon.

Gave it a heart and a smiley and looking forward to seeing where the trail leads.

I agree with the others, but the intro was very nice. Incredible detail and design on the characters!! The first part is short, but the second part made up for it.

The level played fine for me, although if I wasn't lucky to throw over the guard, I don't know what would happen haha. These levels make me want to do more cinematics of my own, but I'll save that for my next projects. ^^

Yup. I agree with CCubbage about the characters and non skippable cutscenes.
Finally other games have started adding the option to skip them, LBP2 creators bring them back with avengeance! Why?!

Had no other problems.
No feedback required.

Just played it!

The Intro part was well-made. But it didn't really excite me.

The first act was nice. I liked the whole setting and the flickering lights and everything. Awesome atmosphere.
Don't have to add anything on that.

The negatives are, that I sometimes lost my orientation especially at the part were you dive into the water and find on the other side this treasure. I was completely confused, because I didn't notice the way upwards before. Was a bit annoying, but not so bad.

I gave the first act a 'Yay'. I missed some really serious levels after the whole lot of "Da Vinci" and "Cake Factory" stuff.

Keep it up!
