Is this even possible?

i want to create a game of intelligence, strategy and skill, but i dont want to give too much away lol.

here is what i am aiming to achieve, sackboy/girl is walking along a platform, with a press of a button i want sackboy/girl to flip onto the opposite side of the platform, upside down, but still be able to run, jump and all that.

is it possible or am i being un realistic.

Its technically possible yes. I'm thinking use sackbots, destroy 1 sackbot as you emit another on the other side of the platform, use an emmiter on a piece of hollo set to follow a tag thats always dead center on where the bot is.

To get the bots to walk on the underside of the plaform, have a mover set to +100 in the sackbots chipboard. I read in another thread a few days back someone asking something similar, RTM explained a simple analogue system that gave either a -100 or +100 signal to an (advanced?) mover which 'stuck' the bot either to the floor or ceiling. I can't quite remember the whole logic process, search for RTM 223s posts, its about a week old now i think.

Check out that thread. I was gonna try it myself too. Although jumping while upside down would be tricky, you might be able to do it with a timer or something turning your mover on/off or something.

Yea but that was on a controlinator object, not a sackbot, and it also didn't jump while on the ceiling. I'm sure it can be done, it's just a matter of making it look good while doing it.2011-02-11 21:15:00

what about haveing a checkpoint on the bottom of the platform, and when you pass it, set a destroyer so you spawn at the cieling and set the mover there, would that work?

my heads frizzled already lmao.

the thread would be great for somethings, but i dont want to just make him flip, he also needs to flip on the otherside of the platform and still be able to have full control of everything, although some points in that thread are very useful, thanks for posting it.

This may be oversimplifying things, but could you have a mover and gyroscope on a chip on the sackbot that is deactivated by default, then when the "flip" button is pressed, it flips a toggle that activates that chip? The chip flips the sackbot upside down using the gyroscope, then the mover simulates a reverse gravity. Then when the "flip" button is pressed again, it flips the toggle which is also running through a NOT gate that is on a gyroscope that flips the sackbot right side up.2011-02-11 21:26:00

ive tweaked and tweaked, ive tried everything thats being mentioned he wont flip the way i wanted him too ive decided its NOT possible atleast NOT for me lol.
