Help with DCS. Making a crane.
Archive: 4 posts
I'm making a crane. I've put a DCS with an advanced mover on it's board. I connected the left stick L/R output to the advanced mover and it moves the crane 'house", the section where the crane op sits, left and right no problem. I connected the right stick up/down from the DCS to a winch, But as soon as I connect a winch to the crane housing (the part that moves L/R) I can't use the DCS to move the crane left or right. It just doesn't work. I can have L/R or U/D but not both, what am I doing wrong. Also, does anyone know how to make a magnet. I want my crane to be like the huge magnetic cranes used in junk yards. I tried using a Follower with a color tag and the matching tag on the pieces I need to lift, but it doesn't work. Thanks. | 2011-02-11 19:53:00 Author: SirGreenDay Posts: 144 |
Well for the magnet, make sure you have the tag on the crane magnet itself. All the scrap pieces need to have the sensors with a followerAND antigravity. | 2011-07-11 21:55:00 Author: Unknown User |
Set the winch, piston or whatever to speed scale. | 2011-07-12 01:23:00 Author: Antikris Posts: 1340 |
Hmmm, some setting must be tweaked, because in theory it should work perfectly. Are you sure the winch and mover are set to the right type of input (directional). I would recommend either using 2 analog sticks, or setting the DCS to transmitter and using 2 receivers, one for U/D and one for L/R. I'll let you know if I come up with a simpler solution. I hope this helps out. | 2011-07-12 02:37:00 Author: sp0ngyraver Posts: 407 |
