Wavelength Test

Archive: 6 posts

Hmmm so in chemistry class today we just started learning about wavelengths and I thought it would be cool to do something with them. I'm going to make a small level showcasing this to just see if the physics of LBP work like they would in real life by using a spring or two and a couple pistons. Anyone with any ideas of how this could be cool (maybe just for aesthetics) reply below. Oh and sorry if this is vague but I don't really know what to expect either.

Here's an example: (Note: It would be moving back and forth so the "bumps" would be moving up and down.)

I don't think you can really make waves. You definitely can't make transverse waves because springs are either stiff or linear, and longitudinal waves really wouldn't do anything. But who knows, maybe you'll surprise me.

I can't see anything after here's my example if there was supposed to be a video or something btw.

^ Yeah what he said.
I'm gonna start experimenting with it tonight and let you know what I find. I think if springs don't work some sort of combination of elastic and floaty material might...

Yeah I don't know I guess its my computer because that won't work for me either and there's no link or anything. Anyway, good luck!

Sorry I'll add it for some reason the "Insert Image" button doesn't work when using an image from online. It'll be in the OP

EDIT: I guess the button does work it's just an issue with which URL to paste in. The pic should be in the OP and there's a link if needed too.

UPDATE: Hey everyone I tried out everything and no luck. It looks like the physics in LBP just aren't enough to do wavelength and here I thought we'd have another great REAL WATER OMG effect...guess not.
