Sackbot Pipes

I have a question. In the story, you see in numerous levels the sackbots getting sucked into those hamster tubes. How do you do that? Do you just attach a basic mover on them?2011-02-10 20:26:00

well there is that but that would look different and also could sometimes be unreliable. what i would do is put a tag in the bottom middle of the tube (about 3 small grid units) and on the sackbot put a follower a selector a mover and 2 tag sensors. the first input for the selector should have nothing same thing with the first output (default state, so nothing happens when you don't want it to) then make one tag sensor have a radius so it will see the tag wen it is ruffly under the tube. the other one should have a very small radius (not 0 but something small like 2 or 3) connect the 2nd output of the selector to the follower. connect the tag sensor with big radius to the 2nd input of the selector. connect the 3rd output of the selector to the mover. and lastly connect the tag sensor with a small radius to the 3rd input of the selector.

Improving it:

you can put another tag (diff color or label) at the top of the tube. then put another tag sensor on the sackbot with a small radius and the same color and tag as the tag you just placed. add another output to the selector and connect the new tag sensor to the 4th input of the selector. this will stop it from infinitely going up.

improving it more!:

if you do the 'improving it' that will make it so the sackbot will fall back down. that's no good (in most situations)! just take out a anti gravity thing (i cant remember the exact name) and connect the 4th output of the selector to the anti gravity thing. that will stop it from moving. (be sure you set the dampening to 100%) this will stop it from moving.

i don't know what they did in story but this should give the same effect, in fairly simple way.

Can't you just hook up a tag sensor to a upwards mover?
(When sackbots reach tag, sensor activates and so does mover, pushing sackbots upwards.)
