Freaky Bouncepad Frenzy - Survival Challenge

Archive: 7 posts

Hi there,

first of all I'm sorry for my clumsy English...

Would be great if you try my first LBP2 level. It's a survival challenge, so it's rather short (but maybe addictive?).

You will enter a big room with low gravity; on the ground a number of bounce pads. By using them you'll earn 10 Points. But be warned, they will turn to lethal plasma some seconds later. The light behind the bouncepad will show you when it's save to use them again by extinguishing. The two sexangles are harmless in the beginning but will turn to plasma after some time - have an eye on the lights in the middle of the level to be prepared.

I'm still working on the level. I know the room where you enter the level does'nt look very nice yet, I'll have to add some decorations soon. The scoreboard isn't pretty as well. The gameplay was the top point on my list of priorities so first of all I'll ask you for your thoughts about it. Did you have fun playing my level? And if not, what could I do better in this and future levels.

Thank you for playing my level.

Greetings
Tobi

I played your level an hour ago and I quite liked it! Didn't have much time so I owe you some extended feedback, but I already left you a heart and a first-impression review in LBP2 2011-02-14 09:13:00

I played your level a few times and this is what i think:

The level itself is very fun an addicting, the way each bounce pad gets lethalized after you jump on it forces the player to change patterns constantly and the additional air dangers make the game fell more intense, however i think that having random bounce pads become lethal could be more interesting, even though in this case the game should warn the player when a pad is about to get lethal. This is not a negative, just a possible alternate approach. The only thing that i feel was lacking was the look of the level which was a bit too simple, maybe some more colors or a better combination of materails could improve the look easily. The only other thing i didn't like was the way the level starts, maybe a using a button to enter the arena could be better, but that's something minor. Anyway i enjoyed it.

I like your idea. May I suggest that the hexagon (blockers?) move at a variable rate, sometimes slower and then faster. I think it would add some spice. Played it twice and enjoyed myself

Thanks

Hi everybody...

As mentioned earlier I have spent some time on working my level over.

The gameplay is pretty much the same as it was, but the start of the level is brand new. There are some sackbots now, explaining how to play the level. I also worked on the look of the level and I hope now it's a bit less boring.

I'm still very interested in your thoughts, so please leave feedback. I will of course try to play your creations as well and leave some feedback there.

Greetings from Germany
Tobi

P.S.: I will soon ad some new pictures...
