Making Emitter spawn from a sequencer
Archive: 6 posts
Due to a bug with the randomizer, i have to rethink my concept. This is a different problem than the other i posted before, so to avoid confusion im posting it here. Ok im trying to make 4 Emitters spawn blocks that fall from the sky. They get shot by a cannon, everything done so far. Now it comes. The level is 3 Minutes long and every 20 seconds a new faster wave of falling block should be emitted. I made a Sequencer for that and made it 3 minutes long and thought i make on the sequencer another sequencer (faster time) to trigger the emitters. ANYBODY tried to trigger emitters with the sequencer before? Its not working for me, because of: -if you put an emitter on the sequencer and set the spawnpoint of the emitting object, its not working. it spawns somewhere else or on another depthlevel. -if you put a battery on the sequencer you can trigger an emitter that is outside the sequencer, this works, but only with 1 battery. So if you want to trigger the sequencer again later and use another battery, you cant connect the battery to the emitter too. Only 1 connection is allowed. So do i have to use another tool for that? Or is this all to complicated and can be dont with other tools? | 2011-02-10 15:13:00 Author: Unknown User |
Well.. you could just use an OR in front of the emitter. Then several batteries should be able trigger your emitter as one shot. Don't overlap the batteries, but just to trigger the desired sequence to your emitter or emitters. | 2011-02-10 15:20:00 Author: jwwphotos Posts: 11383 |
You can also use tags and a tag sensor. Make sure the emitter is off the sequencer (and off the microchip if the sequencer is on one). Then place a tag sensor next to the sequencer (next to the microchip) so its within the trigger radius, edit the tag sensor to label it something like "emitter 1" and wire the sensor to the emitter. Now, whenever you want to activate that emitter, you can place a tag onto the sequencer and edit its label to "emitter 1". | 2011-02-10 15:54:00 Author: Unknown User |

Thats not working atm. , the signal from the second battery (thats on the seq. doesnt) pass the sequencer, only the first batterys signal goes through. | 2011-02-10 16:04:00 Author: Unknown User |

I may try it later.. in the meantime HUcast has a nice idea as well. Might be a bit cooler way to do it actually. | 2011-02-10 16:08:00 Author: jwwphotos Posts: 11383 |

HUcasts Marker-method is working. Its much better than having to wire all batterys up to an OR gate. If now just this stupid randomizer would work now i would understand it, but its skipping each second trigger (from the marker) no clue why........... | 2011-02-10 16:26:00 Author: Unknown User |
