missing tools

Archive: 5 posts

After going through a few forums it has come to my attention that im missing some tools. Something called a Pulsar and a directional tool (blue and red arrows facing left and right) not sure if they need to be unlocked ive done all tutorials and I definitely don't have them, I got the direction one in a prize but i don't have the pulsar and it sounds useful. anyone else have this?2011-02-10 13:29:00

There are variations on the "pulser". It is a created bit of logic using the other tools - it's not provided as or actually named as a pulser. What it is (usually) is a timer with it's output feeding back to its own reset, so it pulses. For a super fast pulse, you can also set up a NOT gate to feed back into itself. There is also a variation that I refer to as a set/reset (because it does not actually "pulse") which is a COUNTER with it's output routed into its own reset. This is very nice if you want to register something just once (set the counter to a max of 1).

As for the directional tool - I'm not really sure to what you are referring. But if you got it in a prize bubble, it is likely also derived logic and not something that is available stock in game.

I hope this helps.

Yeap a pulsar is a Counter set to maximum 1 with it's own output wired back to it's reset

As for a directional tool you may have mistaken them for movers such as, a basic mover http://wiki.lbpcentral.com/Mover and an advanced mover http://wiki.lbpcentral.com/Advanced_Mover. So you should have them.

A list of tools can be found on the wiki:

Yeah - I really don't get why the community has started to call this a pulser. It really doesn't pulse. It's is a classic set/reset switch. The timer/NOT-gate pulser actually pulses - so that I get. But whatever... maybe there's something I'm missing.

Oh I see thanks guys that helps alot! P.S the directional thing was just a microchip that had something to do with giving left and right seperate functions like left emits left faceing sprite right a right faceing one, what made me think it was a tool was the custom picture on microchip (didnt know you could do that)2011-02-10 14:49:00
