Instructions before a VS. Game starts. (Like on the cosmos VS. Game)

The title says it all.. I've been trying to figure this out for about an hour now. I have the whole level done, I'm wanting to have a short cut scene before everything starts telling people how to play. Exactly whats done at the start of the Cosmos VS rocket game. IIRC it uses Magic Mouths with the Cutscene option on. Any tool which activates 'letterbox' mode (think it's only Magic Mouths and Movie Cams) also prevents the timer from ticking until it's finished.

What he said was exactly correct. Magic mouths have outputs that will trigger other events. Basically what you will want to do is hook up a movie camera to a not switch which is coming from a counter with a value of 1. Then string your magic mouths (the instructions) together so that the last output increments the counter by 1. This will cause the movie camera to not be activated anymore and you can cause that same counter (not going through the not switch) to activate your game camera and start the level at the same time. You won't want to use timers, because if someone is a slow reader the level will start without them.2011-02-10 14:32:00

So, I tried using the magic mouths camera, and that did not stop the timer. Also, I want to change camera positions within the intro to my level before the timed game actually starts. Is there a way to do that? (I'm sure there is.) Thanks! I'm going to keep working at it.2011-05-01 21:39:00
