Archive: 6 posts

I had my ps3 for over a year now and i NEVER had any problems with online whatsoever. a couple of days ago i start up my lbp2 and i get a message pop-up, it says i've been signed out of playstation network. when i try to sign back in it says that a dns error occoured bla bla bla and then that its error code "80130182" to get on psn again i had to exit lbp2 and sign in from the xmb and it worked but REALLY SLOW, my internet conection was 100% and when i ran a test everything was sucessfull. i was able to play black ops online but everytime i would go on lbp2 i would get the same thing. now on wenesday (it was sunday when i first had the error) my ps3 wouldnt connect online AT ALL!!! i have no idea what the problem is please tell me what to do or if you have the same problem, i searched everywhere on the internet and it looks like im the only one. also my connection is wireless and my router is linksys by cisco (it looks fancy lol but i dont know much about it) ANY form of help is appreciated Thank you

Ya, seems like SONY's latest 2 "security patches" are a bit screwy.

Sadly, I don't think there's a way to fix this, as there aren't many people that had have happened this to to look for workarounds.
The best advice is to google it tbh, maybe try changing some settings or something, you know?
Or just wait it out and play offline 'till the next update?

Hope that kinda helps.

Have you tried resetting your router directly? I have the same router (it sounds like, anyway) and sometimes it gets a bit fruity. If I refresh it, it usually works fine. To do this, just press the middle button (it looks like a refresh symbol). All the lights should blink for a few seconds then return to normal. If that doesn't do it, unplug it, wait a few seconds, then plug it back in. If I've been of no help, I apologize.2011-02-10 11:10:00

I had the same problem. I changed the DNS settings on the PS3 to the OpenDNS nameservers and have been able to get online easily since then. It's worth giving it a go.
