An in depth look at my game: TREMOR SHOCK

Controlls:

triangle: TBD

square: MENU

circle: exit menu/ back/ other

X: jump/ select/ other

Left Stick: move/ move cursor


De pad:

up= medkit
down= tbd
left=tbd
right=tbd

R1: fire weapon

L1: interactive mode (hold to activate cursor)

PLOT:

Our main character David has a few health issues. Everyday, he takes 1 pill, but over time it becomes so routine that he forgets the reason for the medication. David works at the multi million dollar mining company known as Titan.inc. on one ordinary day to work, he falls asleep. He has a dream about his past, and how his father apparently physically and mentally abused him as a kid. The only sympathy his father ever gives him is “don’t let the dark scare you kid”. David wakes up from the dream, on a train to work. He is strangely the only one on it, at least that’s what the driver says. As he enters the huge building of Titan, no one is there, same as the train. David wonders around titan’s upper floors trying to find someone, but suddenly and without warning, a huge earth quake starts to accrue. This forces David to plunge deep within titan. The only way out is in the depths of titan……

…… but what lurks in the darkness?..

GAME PLAY:

short answer: think resident evil + Dues Ex

long answer: stats, money system, bionic power ups, Fear mechanic gives you a reason not to scare the player by making the enemies come to you because of heart rate, different ammo types, inventory system, shops, common enemies can always be killed but can sometimes hunt in packs (similar to left 4 dead), rare enemies (known as level A monsters) can not be easily defeated with any weapon and must be defeated a specific way, a lot of natural enemies (anything not a zombie or biological weapon) can not see so they react purely to sound (the fear mechanic comes into play here, use light to calm yourself slowly or use drugs to make it happen faster.... etc.

MUSIC:

i have just started developing the music for this game(assisted by HardSync), i believe this will be very important for the atmosphere i plan to present.

[FONT="Century Gothic"]THE ATMOSPHERE

imagine for a minute, your thousands of miles underground, being stalked by natural and unnatural creatures, in a HUGE facility (think black mesa), and you never know if you will ever go back up.
this adds a psychological element to the story and atmosphere, and gives you a claustrophobic feeling as you dig deeper into your suspected grave.

i am very inspired by the game "Penumbra" (buy it NOW!) with its excellent feeling of helplessness and loneliness, set in a similar setting to my game.

CRAP! this is sooo... tempting. i played the first episode (though i got stuck).

I'm amazing at logic, but i'm working on 3 games now, and consulting on a third.
I also would be fairly good as a voice acter (i VO'd in a beta level i had,. and i did the new tut to contamination domination.)

I just want to know though.... what kind of logic do you need?
If its basic menu logic, i can help no problem.

sure and thanks!

the logic i need may be very intricate, for health and power ups. being able to re spawn another sackbot with the same inputs (wireless tag i guess), so that it can communicate with the stats menu and inventory. making a cursor that can interact with every gradable object, etc.

i also want to see if its possible to transfer logic to another level, some how.

Health wont be a problem and powerups oughta be fun to make. You'll have to elaborate more on respawning sackbots with same inputs when we work together. I think I can figure out a cursor...

Transfering logic is not possible, but you can give the player different stickers based on what they accomplish, and they paste that sticker at the beginning of the next level.

If you are still looking to advertise this then I recommend you take a look at my project support group.
Most people are willing to offer in level advertising in the form of posters/billboard and cameos.

Most of the stuff you need is VERY easy. I'll show you, i've made half of them, and i know how to make the rest.

(note: transfer of objects from level to level is possible, but it requires a code system, and an intricate amount of logic.)
