Elevator Help

I have a sequence where an you must defend yourself until an elevator arrives, the elevator is controlled (directionally) by a toggle switch. To activate the toggle switch I have a timer (the time to defend) and a 2 way switch in the elevator hooked up to an and switch. So in order for the elevator to come down, the timer has to be done AND the switch has to be flipped. So I set the switch to invert the output so that when the timer was finished the elevator would automatically come down. I was hoping that after the elevator came down and the player flipped the switch off that the AND statement would no longer be true and the elevator would go back up. But this is not the case. I can hit the switch, but then I have to hit it again in order for the elevator to go back up. Can anyone help to get this to work by only having to flip the switch once? I'm guessing I'll just have to add some more logic on the switch end of it. I will continue to think about it while I wait for my savior, lol. | 2011-02-09 23:21:00 Author: Hamsalad Posts: 2551 |
Here is what you want to do. Attach the output from the switch to an AND switch and also the timer. Make sure you have the timer set to (Start Count Up) to avoid the timer stopping when or if they deactivate the switch. Nothing should reset the timer either. Make sure the switch and the timer are attached to an AND output and make sure the AND output is attached to a counter (Set to 1) and a timer (Set to 0.1) The counter is to activate the OR switch that activates the toggle switch. The timer is there to reset the counter so the switch inside of the elevator can reactivate it. If you want, set the output from the switch inside the elevator to a counter. (Set to 1) That way it can only be activated once. Set the switch/counter to the open input on the OR switch that toggles the toggle. I hope this helps you. | 2011-02-10 00:14:00 Author: TehKing21 Posts: 26 |

I actually had a friend help me in game. It turns out it's a good idea to learn all the tools lol. Because I just used a direction combiner I believe. I put the timer in one side and the switch in another. And also made the switch reset the timer. So after the timer finishes, the elevator lowers. You flip the switch, it deactivates the timer then goes back up to the top. | 2011-02-10 01:40:00 Author: Hamsalad Posts: 2551 |
