Game Camera activation scale bugged?

Archive: 5 posts

Hey all,

In my level I have a group of cameras that are interpolated via activation scale and it works fab - for one player. It seems that when a game camera is set to receive activation scale as input, it distorts EVERYONE's view no matter where they are or what settings the camera has. Is this a bug? Has anyone found a way to restrict the activation scale to the camera's zone?

I believe I saw similar game camera bugs when I was talking to Chris from MM, I guess they didn't fix them all....

Just confirmed, and this is a shame, cos I wanted to use this for a level idea. Seems to work if you use a number of preset Game Cameras set to On/Off, and switch between them, so that'll have to do as a workaround.

That is the workaround I used and it bugs me since now it cuts around instead of smoothly interpolating. I'm hoping this is a bug.

I reported this in the beta. TBH, I consider it broken even in 1 player mode, as it distorts the view of players not within the area of the camera.

Essentially, the activation scale of cameras cannot be used without proximity switches as part of their input, realistically

Yeah, it messes up the view for the whole level. In my case though, if it were one player I could squeak away with it but alas . I remember game cameras being completely broken, I think there are also some issues with local space on game cameras in retail.
