Help with Multi Level Lifts

Archive: 7 posts

Hi all first first on here.

Problem i cannot get my head around.
Right the concept i am doing is a lift, that goes up to 3 floors. When i get into the lift i have 3 buttons, sensors. I have chosen to use player sensor because when i tried a button, as the lift reaches the height i set the piston the lift stops going up i seem to bounce and keep turning the input on and off.

The thing i need/want to do is have 3 buttons/sensors/inputs etc. Say sensor 1, sensor 2, sensor 3.
When in the lift i walk over sensor, say sensor 2 i want the lift to move up (or down if on floor 3) to the required floor.

Sensor 1 to goto floor 1
Sensor 2 to goto floor 2
Sensor 3 to goto floor 3

If i am on floor 3 and i want to goto floor 1 i just walk to Sensor 1

What i have tried so far is TAGS and Followers.
I have Blue Tag attached to FLOOR 1
I have Red Tag attached to FLOOR 2
I have Yellow Tag attached to FLOOR 3

One Piston on bottom middle of Lift attached to Middle of Base on Floor 0.

The Player Sensors are on Floor of Lift. I have them each light up when i am above em. I have set the detection so only the one i am on lights up.

The Followers, I used 3. One for each colour Tags. I tried to attach them to Lift.

Now am i missing something
Do i use a micro chip and what order do i wire each up. This is doing my head in. Will one piston work

Also does the TAGS and Follower need to be on the same PLANE. Say both at front to detect each other. Not one in middle layer and one on front

If anyone can help me that be great. Diagrams would be cool or a youtube vid if anyone knows of a level like mine

thanks

first of all make sure all ur pistole STRENGTH are not at 100%.But u need is a SELECTOR but the output of the sensor into the input of the selecot and the output for that selector to the pistol 2011-02-10 01:06:00

So what i need to try is the following.

One piston less than 100%
Follower x3 (SENSOR?) into a selector x3 attached to the piston.

Set the piston to strength 0 and just let it be (it will serve as a stabilizer only). Use the selector as indicated in the prior post, but wire each of the outputs to the individual followers. The tags for the followers do not need to be in the same plane, but it avoids confusion if you start to add other logic later. In pause mode, place the platform wherever it needs to be for each floor. Place a square of invisible holo with the tag on it DIRECTLY over the microchip that has your followers (which must be attached to the platform itself). Make the minimum detection range zero and the max large enough to be detected from any floor. The followers will all act as though they were each placed exactly where the microchip is placed (this is one of the inherent beauties of microchips). I think this should do it for you.

I hope this helps.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Nope still not working.

I did the following but as the lift is at 0% strength the lift just drops slowley down. Any chance someone could get a working one and post the level link

Hey Paul, I don't know if you're still in need of an elevator/lift design, but I have a three floor elevator fully functioning, which works on a controlinator or grab-switches...I suppose the same design could be tweaked to use player sensors on the floor of the lift, if required. My PSN is the same as my forum name, just send me a friend request if you'd like to look at it.2011-02-11 07:54:00
