Help with cooldown timer on 'emit once' laser?
Archive: 6 posts
Can anone help? I can make a cooldown timer kick in for a gun/laser, but with an emit once button press set up I'm having difficulty. I know how to make it trigger a cooldown after a set amount of button presses. I guess that a timer is also needed to be activated as well to reset the counter before the cooldown mechanism starts up. Anybody? | 2011-02-09 11:05:00 Author: stuk71 Posts: 86 |
I once made some cooldown logic... I think (but I'm not sure) that there was a counter, timer (cooldown obviously), NOT gates, AND gates... the laser stuff you want to fire and everything... ...can I show you the logic later, maybe? It's a bit weird to explain | 2011-02-09 11:52:00 Author: iArekusu Posts: 402 |
Thanks, I feel I know what I am needing, its implementing in all. Getting your head around the new logic tools can be hard to work out, though it is all starting make sense now... a lot more possibilities now. | 2011-02-09 12:16:00 Author: stuk71 Posts: 86 |
its quite simpler than that, just make it to emit once and a counter to go one everytime u fire, and once its filled up it a timer which is the cooldown, add me on psn and i can do this for ya | 2011-02-09 12:19:00 Author: SackboyManuel Posts: 26 |
I understand what you are saying; though what I want to achieve is a system that if you keep a steady flow or short bursts on the fire button then the cooldown timer won't kick in. It's only if continuous fire or if your 'trigger happy' then the laser will over heat, and a cooldown period is triggered. I think I may figured it out, just wish I could get on Lbp2 to experiment... | 2011-02-09 13:24:00 Author: stuk71 Posts: 86 |

As I said, logic in LBP2 is very simple, but if you dont understand what i posted (im not too good at explaining) or dont get it to work, add me to PSN and ill be glad to help! good luck with your creation! | 2011-02-09 15:16:00 Author: SackboyManuel Posts: 26 |
