Keyboard and Mouse Controllinator

As was announced a while back (and I only presume it is still planned to be released sometime) LBP2 will support keyboard and mouse use during create mode. But why limit it to create mode? I really hope there will be a keyboard and mouse controllinator added so we can wire any key to whatever we want and use it during play mode.

It might be a bit of a stretch, but I can only imagine the possibilities.

I think you've got that a little backwards. The KB/M support will be for create mode, and you want it to be usable in play mode as well. Anyways, I like that idea. I had an idea for a "power-up/tool" that uses a keyboard, so this would make it handy. I thought of a keyboard pad tool where it's like the controllinator, but you input a password and it would release an output if it's correct (and a different one if it's incorrect).

Surely enough though, once KB/M support for create mode has been around for a while, I have a feeling people will want to try using it in play mode.

Well, to be honest, my idea doesn't REALLY require a keyboard or mouse. The on-screen keyboard the PS3 has built in would suffice. And being able to use a KB/M setup for play mode is only an alternative. It's not taking over the gamepad method. So don't think a KB/M would be required for any of this.2011-02-11 02:25:00

So you're not really looking for a keyboad-inator, but a text-input-inator, like a text field...

Yeah, that's what I want. I think dr_murk wants something that ACTUALLY involves a KB/M. All I want is a "text-input-inator" which you could use a keyboard for, but it's not required.

Well with a mouse you might wait for Move pack since Move can also work as pointing device same as mouse. Sadly Sony surly wont allow for use of mouse as alternative for marketing reasons2011-02-12 12:15:00
