I'm going to cry --- please help
Archive: 5 posts
I just got a new ps3 because my old one was dying. I did the data transfer and started up LBP2 (which I had won previously!) and EVERYTHING IS GONE!!!! I can see my save profiles in GAME DATA but I can't load them into the game??? I don't understand. I have hours and hours invested in getting the costumes. Can someone please tell me how to get my profile loaded into my new PS3. The files are under GAME DATA and the only option it gives me is delete. | 2011-02-09 00:47:00 Author: surfnshannon Posts: 2 |
Have you tried to click the start button in LBP2 go to SETTINGS go to Import Profile and import the profile from your old PS3 | 2011-02-09 00:49:00 Author: chinook3 Posts: 453 |
Unfortunately, doing a data transfer does not bring over you LBP saves unless you've backed up your profile into your saved data file. To do this, you have to put the disc into your OLD PS3 and while in your pod go to the start menu and under the heading 'profile settings' click 'back up profile'. Once you've done that, your LBP save should appear in your saved data folder on your XMB. Copy this save onto a USB drive and take it to your NEW PS3. Copy it onto the HDD and boot up LBP. From the start menu in your pod, click profile settings again but this time choose import profile. This should bring your save over and everything should work just fine. Note: You must be logged in with the same PSN you used on the old system for the new system to recognize the saved data as your own. Hope that helped. | 2011-02-09 01:01:00 Author: Ninja_Gnome23 Posts: 198 |
Unfortunately, doing a data transfer does not bring over you LBP saves unless you've backed up your profile into your saved data file. Indeed. It's even documented in the manual (http://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/ps3/current/settings/transferutility.html), which I'm sure you read. Preparing the systems to transfer data Before starting the data transfer operation, you must perform the following steps. ... ? Back up your profile information and stages you created in LittleBigPlanet? to your saved game. You can then use the data that was backed up when playing LittleBigPlanet? on the destination PS3? system. | 2011-02-09 01:14:00 Author: Aya042 Posts: 2870 |

It worked just like that. And Yes Aya, I did read the Manual like you know 3 years back when I bought little big planet. I did back up the data to my external what most things don't tell you is to Back up the profile inside of Little Big Planet the game. I guess this is where I got confused. | 2011-02-12 18:20:00 Author: surfnshannon Posts: 2 |
