Video Tutorials: Cars, 360 Aiming, Cameras, Dialog and more!

I have been making video tutorials since LBP2 came out and I figured I'd share them with this community. Sorry for some of the awkward editing, flipshare doesn't really have any settings. Thanks. | 2011-02-08 10:53:00 Author: Mako Posts: 8 |

could I request hard links for those on iPads? | 2011-02-10 00:42:00 Author: MobiusDT Posts: 89 |
Thanks for the vids. Especially the 360 aim tutorial. Follow up question on that one though. How could you make it so that looks like the objects emitted out of a gun (rather than thin air)? | 2011-02-10 08:04:00 Author: Stantron Posts: 2 |
I like these alot, but parts of the car tutorial weren't necessary. For example, your rotation without hitting the gas could have been done by just using any old rotator. | 2011-02-10 13:55:00 Author: Unknown User |
Thanks for your detailed tutorials. Most of the video tutorials I've encountered have been too general and quick to explain, making them very hard to follow. But your's were thorough and specific. I was wondering if you could make a movie tutorial that shows how some of the story levels have been done and a counter to show how laps are completed when doing a race. Again thanks | 2011-02-10 21:04:00 Author: tripple_sss Posts: 250 |
Thanks for the tutorials. Very helpful! I have a question about the 360 aiming. I'd like to have it so that when I aim with the right stick, a hologram arrow appears to indicate where the player is aiming. This would move with the right stick as well, but when the player lets off the stick, I'd like it to disappear. Would this be possible by hooking a battery into the hologram arrow and hooking the left/right up/down of the Right stick into the battery? Or something like that anyway? EDIT: Nevermind, figured it out. Pretty simple, actually. Just hooked the left stick controls into an OR gate and hooked the OR gate directly into my holo arrow. Works perfectly! | 2011-02-11 00:12:00 Author: ccapel Posts: 100 |
Yeah. I'm still learning. I know there are many ways to do something and as a former programmer I always look for the easiest way, but sometimes it doesn't jump out at me. Thanks for the comment! edit: Thanks to everyone. I'm glad some of these are helping. My next video will be about creating a GUI and menus so I'll post a new topic for that. I'll be starting up work soon and my focus will have to shift away from LBP2, but hopefully I'll get this last one done. | 2011-02-11 18:47:00 Author: Mako Posts: 8 |
