Invisible Material!

Is there any Invisible Material in this game??? Something that I can see in create-mode but can't in Play mode?? Or is there a tweak that would let me do this?? I thought the Hologram material would be invisible once I bring the brightness down and it's animation in 0... but you can still see it...... | 2011-02-08 00:58:00 Author: snowyjoe Posts: 509 |
The Holo works fine with brightness down to 0 and animation down to 0... You can't see it in play but you can see it in create | 2011-02-08 01:05:00 Author: chinook3 Posts: 453 |
The hologram material is invisible in Play mode when the brightness is reduced to 0%. You can see this effect in Create mode if you press the Start button and select the check box for Preview. What you see here will be just what you will see in-game when in Play mode. I believe that you can also take any normal material and put a Material Tweaker on it, the one that lets you change the material properties, and select for it to be not visible. | 2011-02-08 01:07:00 Author: Trindall Posts: 297 |
What I would personally like is an invisible solid material, so I could make invisible walls. Even better would be a material tweaker option that allows any material to be invisible, non solid, or both. Switches could change the visibility of any material. Much could be done with this option. | 2011-02-08 01:13:00 Author: synchronizer Posts: 287 |
The visible tweaker seems only to tweak the visibility of the tweaker and not the material. Yes, like synchronizer said, is there a way to make invisible soilds??? The hologram just isn't working out for me. I want a object to be bolted onto an invisible object and then the invible object to be bolted onto another object.... but the hologram seems to break when I do that.... | 2011-02-08 01:21:00 Author: snowyjoe Posts: 509 |

Try using the material tweaker to make the hologram material indestructible. Or does the bolt just not attach to the hologram material? | 2011-02-08 01:25:00 Author: Osprey71 Posts: 93 |
What I would personally like is an invisible solid material, so I could make invisible walls. This LBP1 technique (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=17759-Creating-Editable-Invisible-Material-In-Seconds) stil works in LBP2. | 2011-02-08 01:27:00 Author: Aya042 Posts: 2870 |
If you want an invisible wall/platform, you can shrink any "brush" type of rubber or Dark Matter down to its smallest size, and it will be invisible but still solid in Play and Create mode. It's more of a glitch, so it isn't foolproof, but it works in most cases. | 2011-02-08 01:29:00 Author: EliminatorZigma Posts: 173 |
T Does the bolt just not attach to the hologram material? It just doesn't attach If you want an invisible wall/platform, you can shrink any "brush" type of rubber or Dark Matter down to its smallest size, It's not that I want a platfrom or wall, I want an invisible circle in which I can attach visible platforms to it, while the invisible circle is rotating. | 2011-02-08 03:30:00 Author: snowyjoe Posts: 509 |
It just doesn't attach It's not that I want a platfrom or wall, I want an invisible circle in which I can attach visible platforms to it, while the invisible circle is rotating. Weird, it SHOULD attatch, I've bolted holo to physical materials, holo to holo, etc, and all seem to work fine. Are you trying to bolt holo into a material of the same thinckness and layer as the holo yer trying to attatch it to? | 2011-02-08 04:12:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |
I don't know, it might be a bug or something.... but it works with when I attach ONE object to the holo. Eg. Holo to dark matter via bolt But if I attach another object (sponge) to the holo using a bolt, it just destroyer the connection that it had with the dark matter. I don't have my PS3 with me right now.... but I'll test this out again... it might of beeen just a bug. | 2011-02-08 04:36:00 Author: snowyjoe Posts: 509 |
I am aware of the glitch, but I think an official solution would be a lot nicer. | 2011-02-08 12:17:00 Author: synchronizer Posts: 287 |
Okay... I don't know if you saw Aya's link but you should read up on Cin's article. In short here is how to create your invisible platform: Turn on small grid from the start menu. Choose the material you would like to use and place a 4 x 4 square. Shrink the square down to 2 x 2 with your right stick. Smear the 2 x 2 square into a 4 x 4 square. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until you have the desired size of invisible material. After a while the material will turn invisible at the 4 x 4 state. Just increase to 8 x 8 and smear with 4 x 4. After you get your desired size scale it up a bit until it is visible. Attach a rotator and an anti-gravity tweaker and then shrink it back down to the desired size. I hope you find this useful. | 2011-02-08 14:30:00 Author: tanrockstan34 Posts: 1076 |
That sounds useful, but again, I was suggesting a more official invisible material. | 2011-02-11 12:11:00 Author: synchronizer Posts: 287 |
