How to create character with holo-animation?
Archive: 7 posts
I want to create NES remake like Donkey Kong or Zelda. But I don't know how to create controlled character with 8bit animation. How to construct animation chip? Sprites are ready. | 2011-02-07 20:16:00 Author: Unknown User |
So, I haven't done one of these myself, but I imagine it to work like this: You save every one of your frames as an object, and then you have the player control a block with a microchip on it that emits those frames using looping sequencers. You set the emitters to emit one frame on input and fade away within the frame length. | 2011-02-08 03:54:00 Author: Lokno Posts: 68 |
You don't even have to use emitters. For whatever activates your anumation, such as holding left on the analog makes you go left, use a sequencer with batteries that turn the desired sprite on and off, so for walking left you might have a sequencer with two batteries, with the first activating the right foot stepping forward and the second battery the left foot stepping forward, Set your sequencers on loop to make sure it plays in repeat. | 2011-02-08 04:11:00 Author: booXely Posts: 654 |

Ah, good point. Still getting my head are the wonderful world of holograms. | 2011-02-08 04:14:00 Author: Lokno Posts: 68 |
A great additon to the game if you ask me, they have so many uses, a lot of which probably haven't even been discovered yet. | 2011-02-08 04:18:00 Author: booXely Posts: 654 |
And what about Jump sprite? I imagine it witn permanent switch on Jump-button and Impact-sensor to turn it off. But how to connect it with Walk-animation to turn Walk off while jumping? | 2011-02-09 09:58:00 Author: Unknown User |
Hey, you might want to check out this level. It's a tutorial on holo-characters which you should find helpful. http://lbp.me/v/w6720g | 2011-02-09 11:59:00 Author: Galactus_UK Posts: 19 |
