8001002B on LBP2 :(
Archive: 3 posts
Hey guys, just loaded my disc this evening and was faced with "An error has occured 8001002B" Won't let me on the game at all. So I read into it on the Sony PSN forums , and apparently it is either : 1. A Dirty disk can't be that the game has never left the console 2. A Blue ray diode problem maybe I've had it for several years and I was getting alot of errors recently. 3. A bad sector in the HDD Don't know how to find this out or not, but once again i've had it for years. So pretty much I can't play LBP2, I've been checking other games but so far it is just LBP2. I want to hear from other people's experience with this error before I contact sony, and my warranity has most likely ran out so.... Sony won't be of much help. Oh and about backing up... I have backed up a few LBP levels that are precious to me, but I haven't got enough space on my pen drive for all my data( 59 GB LOL) Any ideas what I could store it on instead? Also I have tried these steps, (recommended by Sony to one of my mates) Step one:- Have you're system on standby (off) and press and hold the power button until it turns off and on, do not take you're finger off until it has turned off again. Step Two:- Now press and hold the power button again and when you hear two beeps let go of the button. You will be taken to a screen with about 5 different options. Step Three:- Select option two which does a system restore, dont worry you're data will not be lost. After it has completed, go back to the XMB and try a game. If it does not work still repeat the above process and try option 3. Then option four if it still doesnt work and then 5. Option 5 WILL erase you're hard drive. And still the same, but only now I have to register my accounts on the users again lol. | 2011-02-07 19:17:00 Author: onaga666 Posts: 293 |
You can always delete all the data from the "Game Data Utility" (NOT the save data.) which is where the data for installed games is, each installed game taks about 3GB - 7GB space. So that may free up enough space. | 2011-02-07 19:55:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |

I suppose Its much handier than losing my LBP data. | 2011-02-07 20:16:00 Author: onaga666 Posts: 293 |
