Its been too long since I made an RPG, or participated in one. I wanted to join TCW3, buyt I didn?t have time. So I have been using some of the time I do have, to design a new one, that is simple enough to be quick fun, but complicated enough, to create strategies. Not just a random affair of storytelling (though, this rpg will allow some!) and an rpg not entirely dependant on one person posting, to continue. It has been hard, and it has taken a while. But I have created the basic structure, and I am ready to bring some hardcore role-playing to LBPC World of Dream ~ Sign up World of Dream is a txt RPG, based in the World of Dreams, an ever-expanding World, crafted from the essence of dreams. A mysterious coma has struck much of the world? Leaving the mind asleep, but the body awake. The victims? minds are stuck in the dream world-completely un-aware of their bodies? state. The source of the coma is a corruption n the dream realm, caused by a buildup of nightmares. You, too, have fallen to the dream plague? and mentally awake in the dream realm. An enlightened professor, whom was trapped here years ago, explains what has happened, and tells of what must be done to prevent any more mental deaths ? what happens when the mind dies - he doesn?t know what happens to the bodies, but he assumes they are stuck mindless forever. You are instructed by the professor to roam the landscape, and hold off the incoming nightmares. He explains how there are some dream items that repel nightmares, such as prized toys in children?s dreams? he tells that some of those items uses could be fortified thru the powers of your mind, but your minds power must be increased. He explains this can be done by doing many things in the dream realm, overall experience with the world increase your power over time? even eventually allowing the power to use more complex items as weapons, among other things (such as increasing stats). He also explains that if you trained your mind enough, you could use the power with no conduit, and common the energy thru thin air? much like spells. I am still working on the minor details, but you will also get currency called dream bits that you can trade at any cities shop for different items, which exist, populated by the products of imagination. They are populated each by a different dream-species?some friendlier than others, and with many different unique characteristics. Some trust you, some don't. and that certainly affects their prices? Anyways, I regress. The games rules will be explained more when sign up is finished. I will say some last things though; the game play will be based on http://www.random.org/dice/ (http://www.random.org/dice/) and http://www.random.org/ (http://www.random.org/) the 3 dice will be used for enemies; lvls, amount, and type. And one last one to find out if you will get an item While the regular number generator shows the number of dream bits gathered from the beast (lvlx10 min, lvlx100 max), and what lvl the item will be(lvl=min lvx2=max) Every move you make (except in neutral, and good natured towns) you have a 1 to 2 chance f an enemy attack. You decide what you will do, and then use the number generator to find out if an enemy will attack (1 is no,2 is yes) after the battle if there is one, you will do what you wanted too (move from an area to an adjacent one (teleport with special spell to anywhere) and ask to, or invite someone, to join your group, as to increase power in battle (will follow party leader) So? how is it so far? It's a bit complicated? but at least it won?t depend on a specific person posting. I think its ok, but yeah? if you want to join follow this guidline Char. Name Gender Base stats: 12 points (3 points per lvl up) Attack (physical attack) Defense (physical defense) Hp (hit points? pointsX5) special attack (non-physical attack ) special defense (non-physical defense energy (points for spell, and other skill) Bio. its a bit wierd, the idea, but i think it allows creativity... and fits these forums well. i am still working on the world... but the ideas close enough to start sign-ups... so... Dang, this sounded really cool until I heard it'd be dice-based. Probably for the best, as I'll be too busy with TCWIV in a few weeks. Good luck with it, though!
